National Rail are reporting delays to service between Wakefield and Leeds. No reason given but sources that I know are stating that a teenager has climbed on a freight train and got electrocuted near Outwood.
According to the BBC Travel website and Red Button Service, Northern Rail services could possibly be disrupted at Manchester Pic tonight due to Industrial action.
I have noticed for the past few days problems with train crew not been available, so is this related and what industrial action is...
Was just looking at the real times site and noticed that a train from Sheffield was cancelled tonight from Bridlington
http://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/train/Y53916/2015/05/02/advanced
According to the site, the reason the train was cancelled was due to 'passengers not having valid tickets'...
OK this might sound crazy but I fancy a change of scenery from the usual journey.
This week I will be going to Wolverhampton again, but this time I am thinking of going via Manchester and missing out the dreaded New Street Station.
I will be going on Tuesday about 11am but not arriving back...
Yet again I am going on a trip and and would appreciate some advice.
I am going to Liverpool on either Tuesday night and coming back Wednesday, or going on Wednesday and coming back the same day.
If I am travelling on the Tuesday I won't be leaving Sheffield until at least 1pm, but if I am...
I'm travelling to Wolverhampton next week with a friend and have been looking at how I could save a bit of money apart from buying split tickets which I already know, thanks to the help on this forum.
Now looking at the National Rail website it clearly shows that the ticket is valid to Burton...
I've to go to Darlington tomorrow and with it been a Friday, I quite fancy a few lemonades on my journey back to Sheffield.
Not wanting to pay extortionate prices on the train, where is the nearest tesco/sainsburys/asda?
On 9th Jan I have to travel to Darlington and be in Darlington for 9.30am.
Now usually that wouldn't be a problem as I could get an advance but I am travelling back on the same day and that is where the problem is......I don't know what time.
I'm at the family courts, and anyone that has had...
I've just been looking at the last train to Sheffield from Manchester Piccadilly and found something rather odd.
The train is a FTPE with its only calling point as Sheffield but it's going to take over an hour and half.
Which magical mystery tour is it going on?
I am travelling (or as it stands I am) to Durham from Sheffield on 25th needing to be in Durham for 1pm or just after.
I have looked at trainscanbecheaper.info and it has given me some splits via Yarm, but that seems stupid as (well as far as my geography can work out) I would be going back...
Got a bit of a query on this rover ticket....and the search option on here doesn't really help as it has left me with more questions than answers.
Anyway on Monday I have to do a fair bit of travelling, and by looking at the map of this rover it will certainly do me for what I need to do (and...
Git a bit of a query.
I'm travelling from Leeds tomorrow all the way to sunny Darlington, and have purchased my tickets through Transpennine Express. Reason for doing that is simple as in tickets were a hell of a lot cheaper.
Anyway the tickets have been sent as an m-ticket, with TPE stating...
Well as of March/April of this year I have locked horns with Northern for something that should never have happened.
In December 2013 I received a letter from Northern that I had travelled on a train without a valid ticket.
Anyway a few calls and emails followed then I received a letter in...
It's not really a ticketing question more of a query on the policy of the situation.
One of the regulars in the pub that I go to had a phone call from his daughter yesterday saying that she'd lost her train ticket and couldn't get home.
She'd no cash on her and no bank card, so money wasn't...
This request may seem a little odd. But believe it or not it actually saves me time.
Im looking at travelling from Sheffield to Wolverhampton but going via Stockport, and I am looking for any splits that may work.
Tickets again would probably be bought on the day, but I would need peak and off...
One of the things I love about this site is how other people can save you money on train fare, but this one has me stumped.
I'm looking for a Leeds to Sunderland return bought on the day.
Not sure when the return is yet so that rules out advance tickets, but every option I can think of appears...
Can anyone help with this.
Sheffield to Wolverhampton day return, with a possible trip to Walsall day return.
Tickets are to be bought on the day, but I was wondering if a rover would be any good
I wonder if anyone can help with finding cheap tickets to Walsall.
Tickets would have to be bought on the day, as 1 journey is to be made off peak and 'if' the plan i have works then I may not need the other journey, but the way this week has gone I never know.
I am however requiring both...
