Can anyone help with this.

Sheffield to Wolverhampton day return, with a possible trip to Walsall day return.

Tickets are to be bought on the day, but I was wondering if a rover would be any good

Edit: Derby to Walsall is £16.70 (same as Birmingham) so you might prefer that, then get a return from Walsall to Wolverhampton (£2.90, not via Birmingham, £5.70 via Birmingham - still cheaper than a daytripper).

If needing to travel from Walsall to Wolverhampton use the bus much quicker!

A single is £2.10 on the 529 or £4.00 daysaver if bought on the bus.

But when buying your train ticket to Wolverhampton ask for a Plusbus which is £3, ticket is valid all over the West Midlands including the tram, and most bus operators accept it!

A Wolverhampton PLUSBUS ticket gives you unlimited bus & tram travel on participating operators’ services, around West Midlands region, including all of Wolverhampton town.

Participating bus operators:
all operators in the West Midlands, (that participate in the 'n' bus ticketing scheme), including:- national express West Midlands & Midland Metro (trams), Arriva, Blue Diamond, De Courcey Travel, First, Midland, Stagecoach.

It's valid throughout the West Midlands.

Although to be accurate, that's the West Midlands county and not the larger West Midlands region.

Derby to Walsall is £16.70 (same as Birmingham) so you might prefer that, then get a return from Walsall to Wolverhampton (£2.90, not via Birmingham, £5.70 via Birmingham - still cheaper than a daytripper).

Just a small point £16.70 is the Off-Peak Return price to Walsall. An Off-Peak Day Return is also available for £16.00. Oddly, a day return fare from Derby to Wolverhampton is not available.

A larger point: the £2.90 return from Walsall to Wolverhampton (not via Birmingham) cannot be used in full as the only scheduled passenger train on the line is the Saturdays Only 06:38 Wolverhampton-Walsall!

Yes. The bus takes about 45 mins, I believe its the X51

X51 is express, there is a 51 on the same route that calls at all stops.
