TPE Mobile ticket

Git a bit of a query.

I'm travelling from Leeds tomorrow all the way to sunny Darlington, and have purchased my tickets through Transpennine Express. Reason for doing that is simple as in tickets were a hell of a lot cheaper.

Anyway the tickets have been sent as an m-ticket, with TPE stating that mobile must have charge etc, so no need to collect tickets at the train station.

Now the app gives an option of activating the ticket, but how do you get through the barriers at Leeds?

Find a member of staff at the gateline and show him/her the ticket and they'll let you through.

Thanks for that,but do I activate the ticket before or when I get on the train?

You need to activate the ticket before you go through the barriers. I can't remember if Leeds does, but some stations (including Darlington) have barcode scanners on the ticket barriers to let you through. IF you can't use the barcode scanner you need to see a member of staff.
