Can I please have some advice.
I recently ordered on 13th September some advance tickets from Watford Junction to HighBridge travelling on 5th November, returning 9th November. I used London Midland's website and requested 1st class post. As of today they haven't arrived. They state I...
I do a lot of cycling and love riding along disused railway lines.
Over the last couple of weeks I've noticed that someone has been busy along the old St Albans to Hatfield line at Nash Hyde Halt. The platform has been cleared of ivy and a copy of a distance signal put up with 2015 on it...
Today I treated myself to a FGW Thames Branches Day Ranger. My ticket would let me out at Reading only but not in. All the other ticket barriers i.e. Maidenhead, Slough, Paddington kept telling me to seek assistance with code 116.
Was it me  or the ticket barriers didn't like the...
Does anyone know if there's another blockage due in the Watford area to reinstate the point work, north of the station, between the station and the tunnels?
After reading several posts where honest mistakes have been made by passengers getting on a wrong train and not knowing or realising the stopping patterns, ending up one or more stations along the line, than they intended.
I know London Midland stopping patterns fairly well, so I don't have a...
I rarely use trains on a Sunday but today I travelled between Watford Jct and Leighton Buzzard and with a BoJ on the way back at Hemel Hempstead and didn't have my tickets checked at all.
Are Sundays a bit of a rest day for ticket inspections? :(
As far as I'm aware the Watford blockade is still going ahead over Easter on the WCML.
I've just read my latest E-mail from Transport for London. No Metropolitan line south of Harrow on the Hill. No Jubilee line south of Wembley park. No London Overground between Watford Jct and Queens Parks...
Tomorrow I'm travelling Watford Jct to Shanklin via Waterloo with a Network card. Is it a permitted route to travel using London Overground (10.01) from WTJ to Harrow & Wealdstone and change onto Bakerloo line? Although it's slighter slower, there's a lot less steps and escalators.
This afternoon I caught the 15.54 London Midland service out of Euston. Despite the lights and no doubt heating being on inside the train, passengers were left standing on the platform until two minutes before departure.
I assume this is normal London Midland customer service. :(
I've noticed at several railway stations St Pancras, Marylebone and a shopping centre, Harlequin Watford, pianos.
The piano at St Pancras was actually being played by a young girl Friday (30th Jan) and quite a few people watching/listening.
Have pianos been seen anywhere else?
I know this topic was covered in an earlier thread.
I have a Network South East Card. Today I asked the clerk in the ticket office at Watford Jct if next week, I could buy an All zones travel card about 9.30 and then walk around to Watford Metropolitan station for a 10am start. Her answer...
I would like to travel to Southend on Saturday 27th Dec from Watford Jct.
I spoke to the ticket office asking "Can I buy tickets here, using my network card but because of the blockade, start from Watford Met station" His reply was "I have to use the rail replacement service to Stanmore"...
I've just been asked by my father who travels occasionally between Hemel Hempstead and Bristrol via Euston and Paddington.
He's getting on a bit and was wondering if it's a permitted route to change at Harrow & Wealdsone and catch a Bakerloo line train direct to Paddington, that way he'd...
If there is a service disruption on the southern end of the WCML out of Euston for any reason, it's always London Midland's Tring stoppers that are the most likely to be cancelled.
I was wondering what services are the first to be cancelled out of other mainline stations during disruptions?
I've been reading in the press lately, once the Met has been extended to Watford Junction, the possibilities of running a direct service between Watford Junction and Amersham, using the north curve. (I can't find any previous discussion on the forum)
I'm sure it'd create a lot of new travel...
Over the winter period I intent to cover some new branch lines using off peak tickets, starting from Watford Junction.
One trip is Seaford, should be no problem going via Clapham Junction using Southern.
The other is Southminster. Are off peak tickets valid on London Midland in their...
My father, now in his 80's, worked for London Transport and received his retirees pass.
He knows he can't use LM trains from Watford Jct. (Not sure about London Overground).
From Amersham, can he use Chiltern trains to Marylebone or does he need to wait for a Met train into London?
There were quite a few delays and cancellations on the southern end of WCML today. I saw a 377 (looked like a 377/7 from a distance). I saw a 377/2 what looked like (again from a distance) trying to couple up, with several engineers standing around but 377/2 eventually left Hemel Hempstead empty...
I've just had the below message from my daughter;
:):) xx got some issues with our German train tickets as apparently you need to have a credit card even though they let us buy with a debit card! Any ideas?
Thanks for any help in advance
Peter
I travelled the East Grinstead line yesterday. I noticed some blue signs about 1' Sq with red writing. At speed they are unreadable.
Does anyone know what is writtern on them and what they mean?
Thanks
We are aware of an issue with emails from the Forum to Microsoft-based email accounts (hotmail/outlook/live.com email addresses). This is being looked into currently, thanks for your patience meanwhile.
