Over the winter period I intent to cover some new branch lines using off peak tickets, starting from Watford Junction.

One trip is Seaford, should be no problem going via Clapham Junction using Southern.

The other is Southminster. Are off peak tickets valid on London Midland in their evening curfew? Should an off peak ticket, not being valid via Euston, is an off peak ticket valid on the way back via Stratford and Willesden Jct?

thanks in advance for any advice.

Peter

Peak times are determined by the ticket and not the train. According to BR Fares the off peak return is valid any time after 0930 from Paddington/Reading so you'll be fine to use it in the evening on LM

The Off-Peak day return is also valid

As long as Euston is on a permitted route (I don't see why it wouldn't be) you're allowed to travel there

Thanks SS4 for advice. With my Network railcard, it brings the fare down to about £18.80

I've heard there's nothing in Southminster, so I'll have BoJ on my way back.
