Broken Down Train at Hemel Hempstead.

There were quite a few delays and cancellations on the southern end of WCML today. I saw a 377 (looked like a 377/7 from a distance). I saw a 377/2 what looked like (again from a distance) trying to couple up, with several engineers standing around but 377/2 eventually left Hemel Hempstead empty handed heading south with several engineers standing around. I couldn't hang around any longer, so I wondered what rescued the 377 eventually.

Can 377/2's rescue 377/7 in the event of a breakdown?

Yes they can. The older 377 have been made compatible with the /6 & /7 fleets.

It was a 377/7 that failed, there's a account of what happened in the 377/7 thread.
