ok, thanks, that is what i thought but was told different at the station when i went to buy tickets.
we were planning to catch the 23.29 from abergavenny on a sunday, have a wait/BOJ at newport, and get the 0530 to paddington. both fgw and arriva trains on line systems say it is ok...
I am wondering about the morning restrictions with this railcard.
The conditions say it cannot be used between 04:30am and 09:30am, so does that mean if you catch a train before 04.30 you must get off at 04.30?
I was on this train and one of the TMs made a clear announcement before we left.

There were empty seats in E from Bristol Parkway.
It was very crowded, considering the Reading people were not on board.
There didn't seem to be a big rush to...
i was going to use a return half an off peak return to travel Paddington to Didcot but my plans have changed i will be going straight back to abergavenny.
what will be the cheapest way to do this? an excess or a ticket from didcot?
it is based on the train because it is connectible in normally dead spots. some will allocate me an address using dhcp and some won't.
i suppose FGW will get upset if i accidentally break in to it :)
that train is not available on the fgw planner.

if i am not allowed to catch it, then i shouldn't, whether the guards will argue or not?
the problem is it won't save me much time and fgw planner says i am not allowed to catch the 15:52, so i would be faced with arguing my case.
i was hoping the super off peak restrictions wouldn't apply at swindon, or i could get a train from swindon which didn't come from london.
looks like i...
hi, I have an appointment cancelled for this afternoon and want to head for home, from Paddington, at about 16.00-16.30.
I have a super off peak ticket that won't be valid until 19.15 and am looking for the cheapest way to travel. is it possible to get an off peak to swindon and use the super...
Occasionally, I have to pick something up in Swindon on my way back to South Wales. Is it possible to get the 19.00 from Paddington to Bristol, get my letter and get on the 19.15 from Paddington, with a Super Off Peak ticket to Newport?
The ticket wouldn't normally be valid to Swindon on that...
I can't move my appointment in London. FGW customer services don't know, they confirm there is no engineering work, but do not know why that train is not running.
Any helpful FGW employee know what is going on?
If i turn up at 05.30am with a super off peak return and a paper timetable, will I...
Anyone know why I can't find a 05.30am Newport to Paddington for 3rd October? FGW website doesn't have any engineering work.
If it isn't running any alternatives that would be cheap.
There appears to be no 05.30 Tuesday-Friday.

Quick question. Eldest son is 27 and is finishing a Masters degree. Is it ok for him to renew his Mature Student railcard early while he is still a student, even though he won't be a student in a few weeks?
I think FGW did a good job at that time. I was traveling to London twice a week then, and they got me there and got me back. Information about what was happening was available.
