Some of the Reading trains from Waterloo are run by Class 458.
To me they seem to have better acceleration and seem to zip along much quicker than class 450.
Also I have noticed that the seats are more comfortable than those on the 450, slightly thicker. The 450s, seem to leave me with...
Yesterday after an evening out in Clapham Junction, we arrived at platform 5 to take the Reading train at 11.20.
There were numerous passengers on the platform, and all the destinations were showing delayed, and there was no further information.
We pressed the help button at the information...
I am unsure if this is valid, under one of the conditions of carriage (condition 19 I think)
Can you have 2 season tickets that can be combined as it works out cheaper than the original point to point season tickets, does the train have to stop at the station(s) where one ticket ends and...
Am I right in assuming once this is built oyster cards will be valid, and thus Reading will be inside a zone.
I have also heard that TFL want to take over some parts of the SWT network.
The reading to Waterloo line is one of the busiest in the country and also fares on this line are very...
When we meet friends in Central London, we have to cut our night out short as the last SWT that leaves to our station is 23:50.
On stark contrast other operators such as ex FCC used to operate late night trains to Peterborough, and I am sure at one point you could travel on Thameslink nearly...
I have a season ticket, that was initially a zone 1-5 bought from Chiltern, so I could use it on their network on weekends.
I then got a new job in SWT land and thus had to get an extension.
SWT refused to do the extension as I had my ticket on oyster.
Chiltern refused to change oyster back...
I have been delayed 5 times on SWT each time over an hour. I have written in to claim compensation but have been advised that as I hold a gold card season ticket I will get a discount next time, however I will be starting a new job and will now be driving , thus have no intention of renewing my...
There is a Harribo advert where various commuters are waiting on a platform, on what I believe is somewhere on the SWT network.
Does anyone know where this was filmed?
I was on a SWT from Waterloo and I noticed a smartly dressed kid get on at clapham junction.
As the train approached stains the guard started to check tickets.
She asked this kid (about 17yo) for his ticket and he started to pocket dance.
She asked him where he got on at, he said Feltham.
I...
Dear Ladies and Gentlemen,
I was wondering where I can find the details of a season ticket changeover calculator. When I changed my zone 1-5 annual oyster travel card at MYB they used some software which calculated how much extra I have to pay.
I need the same software to workout if it is...
As one faces the London bound direction, there is a platform and some tracks that are partly disconnected on the left hand side.
What were these used for and why have they been abandoned.
Will they every be brought back into service especially when TFL want to control the London part of the...
I have noticed more recently both guards and RPI tend to sell tickets instead of handing out penalty fare.
I watched a revenue block today and there were 8 RPI standing at the entrance.
I saw 2 guys being sold tickets but no PFN was given.
I think its also the way people behave and show...
There are a few generic messages that I have noticed
" There is a fault with the door system, this is being attended to, please do not operate any passenger alarms. Thank you"
This gets played when the train is in-between stations and there are delays.
This seems to be a common occurrence...
I just wanted to check route validity for a season ticket for Virginia water to Waterloo via weybridge route any permitted.
I have had conflicting advice but I spoke to an RPI and he said it was valid but at waterloo was told it was not.
Cheers.
Having started to use this line, it is a very busy line.
What I don't understand is why so many stops.
The train is very full by Egham, and there is standing room only.
Even the two RPI that boarded gave up checking tickets as it was physically impossible.
I can see now how easy it is to get...
I have had severe problems doing a changeover from Chiltern who issues my zone 1-5 travelcard on an oyster and SWT
Chiltern have had lots of new frontline staff, and I have had to go back to Marylebone 4 times to get my changeover down.
SWT refused to do it, as they don't do oyster.
I now...
Was just wondering as Amersham is about 27.9 miles,
isn't it about time to extend other stations to the Zonal area to help commuters.
I was thinking parts of the SWT franchise and stations such as Sunningdale which are a similar distance, and have similar journey times to the met / chiltern line.
How come these are engineered so that they are much quieter compared to a 165. It sounds as though you are in a coach / bus rather than a train, and you can hear the engine moving up the gears.
I currently have a zone 1-5 Oyster travel-card bought from chiltern in July this year. I will be moving to Virgina Water and want to know how best to proceed as from Waterloo I will need to get to Bermondesy in Zone 2.
I anticipate the move from Jan 16
Many thanks
I travel from Northolt park to Canada water which involves Chiltern and LU.
I have been caught out by the Jubilee line on 3 occasions where I have had to find alternative transport as the jubliee line is suspended on the section that I need to use.
I have submitted travel compensation from...
