I currently have a zone 1-5 Oyster travel-card bought from chiltern in July this year. I will be moving to Virgina Water and want to know how best to proceed as from Waterloo I will need to get to Bermondesy in Zone 2.
I anticipate the move from Jan 16

Many thanks

A Virginia Water to London Zones 1-6 out-boundary Travelcard (£3,568 for the annual) is the benchmark, this is what you would need to get to Bermondsey Jubilee line via Waterloo. You could get away with zones 2-6 (£2,912) if you can use the Overground between Clapham Junction and Canada Water, approaching Bermondsey from the opposite direction and avoiding zone 1.

A rail-only season ticket to London Terminals (£2,792) would get you as far as London Bridge - under normal circumstances you'd go via Waterloo East, but with the current works at London Bridge your ticket would be valid on the tube instead. This may be an option depending on your exact destination.

Go to Marylebone a few days before you want the changeover to take effect and they'll get you to complete a form with the details of the old and new journeys (the expiry date has to remain the same as the existing ticket).

On the day the changeover is to start from, go back to Marylebone and they'll unload the Travelcard from your Oyster and issue the new one as a paper ticket, charging the difference between the two fares for the remaining period of validity. You'll need to take a passport photo if you don't already have a photocard.
