Problem with SWT and Chiltern.

I have had severe problems doing a changeover from Chiltern who issues my zone 1-5 travelcard on an oyster and SWT

Chiltern have had lots of new frontline staff, and I have had to go back to Marylebone 4 times to get my changeover down.
SWT refused to do it, as they don't do oyster.

I now have a ticket from Sunningdale to London 1-6 on a paper ticket.
This is going to be very inconvenient.
Chiltern told me that to put it back on oyster would be 2 separate tickets.
Sunningdale - surbiton and zone 1-6.

How do I go about getting by zone 1-6 bit put on an oyster to help speed up my journey through the barrier. Also the ticket will get demagnetised. iPhones are very good at doing this!

I believe Sunningdale is outside the Oyster area so your ticket can't be issued on Oyster.

You could have two tickets as described above but this would cost extra and require the train to call where you change from one ticket to the other.

SWT do smartcards.

Could my ticket be transferred on to this. At Sunningdale they have readers.
Would they open the gates at Waterloo and at green park?

I would suggest to get a changeover from your Sunningdale to Zones 1-6 paper season to a Sunningdale to Zones 4-6 paper season. This costs £2,780 for the year and you will get a pro-rata refund based on the difference in prices with the Sunningdale to Zones 1-6 (£4,056) and the number of days/months remaining. Then put the refund towards the cost of a separate Zones 1-3 Travelcard on Oyster, which costs £1520 annually. The overall cost will be £4,300 - so you'd be paying a premium of £244 for the convenience of splitting into two tickets, but the combination is valid to use on non-stop trains as both tickets would be zonal.

The Sunningdale to Surbiton + Zones 1-6 combination would cost £4,684 in total, so it's not the best option and as Hadders said, would require any train you travelled on to stop at Surbiton.

I wouldn't bother with the hassle of doing another changeover immediately after you've just done one, which I'm sure would also annoy staff. I'd just keep the existing ticket and get it replaced as and when the magstripe fails which is quick and easy.

When it expires, consider buying your new ticket as Indigo2 suggests. However note that having part of the ticket on Oyster comes at a premium!

Your ticket is not available on Oyster but may be (or later this year) available on SWT's own smartcard scheme which is valid within Zone 1-6 like Oyster:
