A friend of mine was travelling from Huntingdon to Finsbury Park and had a non folding bike.
Being weary of bike thefts he locked it to the fixtures and fittings of the train. It wasn't obstructing any of the isles or doors and the train was lightly loaded.
Ticket inspectors started to check...
With cars clogging up out streets, why are there no buses to attractions just out of London from london border.
Eg Windsor is close to Hounslow and have an extension of route 81
Staines is near Virginia Water lakes and buses could easily be extended here along the A30 calling at Egham eg routes...
This is a strange idea, but when the mainline is closed between say Heathrow and Cardiff, how about a shuttle service from Paddington to heathrow, then use the BA maintenance flight to Cardiff which should take about 20 mins. BA get revenue and it may be cheaper to do this than buses.
Most cards are issued as contactless these days, and it got me thinking that if you have 2 near identical credit cards with the same logo etc but relate to different accounts.
Most blokes keep their card in their wallet, and in the rush you touch in with one card, you get to your destination, or...
The new vodafone advert on tv showing people glued to their mobiles even the guard. Where was this filmed? How did people get to appear on such adverts? It was an old train.
Just noticed a mass of coastliner buses for the BMW PGA championships in Wentworth. Driving down the M3 towards Fleet I saw a load driving towards the Bagshot exit the other way.
My questions are
1) Where are these stationed overnight? Do they go back to Portsmouth? Are the crew therefore not...
Was just wondering how 24 TPH are going to be managed, the current timetable takes nearly an hour to cross London, it is very slow.
Also why did they not tunnel under the ground to connect the far end of rails to canal tunnel, north of KGX as transversing so many lines is going to cause a bottle...
Driving down the A30, there are so many cars and people that visit Virginia Water Great Parks.
I am disappointed to see that there is only 1 bus service 500 (Staines to Camberly) that offers a very poor service.
A lot of these people reside in west London. How difficult would it be to extend to...
My wife wanted to travel off peak from Virginia Water to Green park. She left at noon. There was an off peak travelcard priced at 16.10 but she was not sold that. She was told that she could not leave waterloo before 7pm. This is rubbish as an off peak travel card is only valid after 9.30 and...
When you are driving down Trumps Green Road in virginia water there are 2 arches very close to each other. I initially thought this was the north south track on the weighbridge line but why build 2 bridges...
I am very displeased with the way SWT convey major info. on disruptions.
If you click on the live travel updates and then your line it takes you to
https://www.southwesttrains.co.uk/plan-your-journey/network/
There should be immediate information available rather than trying to find the...
I was annoyed with SWT as my other half who was travelling at 11am was not sold the cheapest day travel card and sold an anytime travel card.
That got me thinking.
In the world of smart phones which have GPS, and a lot of rail tickets have QR codes.
1) buy a paper ticket to get you to...
I have noticed that there are a lot of circular routes on the SWT network.
Why is there no service that goes from
Waterloo to Weybridge - Virginia Water - Staines , Richmond and back to Waterloo. The connections at weybridge are poor, as soon as the mainline comes in the Waterloo via Hounslow...
I am thinking of doing a skiing holiday, and was wondering what the service to
Les Arc 2000 in Bourg saint Maurice is like.
As it is near 9 hours, do they give you a bed or is it just like recliner chairs, are meals provided in the ticket?
The other option was to fly to Geneva and get a...
My FIL has any oyster 60+ card which entitles him to free journeys after 9.30.
He travelled from Northolt to Victoria, and then was told he needed a ticket from someone at SouthEastern to Bromley South.
He bought a ticket and when I questioned him, he should not have been asked to pay for a...
If one was to buy a season ticket from Southern and due to the strikes it was impossible to get to work, how would you get a refund? how is this calculated.
Also if you were to buy a season ticket from southern and the ticket was for journeys used on SWT would you be entitled to compensation...
If I was to buy a return on the SWT to London Terminals, could I use this to go from Waterloo East (either walk or Jubilee line to Southwark and then switch to Waterloo East) from Waterloo East onto Charing Cross, which is near Leicester square.
Many thanks
My wife and I are going from Virginia Water to London to see a theatre production which starts at 7.30 next friday.
We have 2 options, and were thinking about buying a "2 together" card.
Cheap day travel card return zone 1-6 which when I had my network card was £10.75 ish, but that was 5...
WE are landing about 8am. I don't have a railcard but my companion does. We live near Virginia water but can get a lift from Camberley or blackwater back home.
What options are there with routing to either Virginia water or Sunningdale
Or blackwater or Camberley.
What would be the...
