    Flooding at Farringdon

I was also at Farringdon around 1730 last night. The station announcements were very frequent and also very apologetic, so it seemed well handled. I didn't hear any mention of tickets being accepted on the tube southbound, though I think they said they were being accepted northbound - there...

Singles to / from U1 London

Gateline programming seems so variable. For example my outward Anytime single U1 London to Reading was not accepted by the barriers for entry at London Bridge, nor for exit at Paddington.

Singles to / from U1 London

This week I used an off peak single from Reading to U1 London. I always thought these tickets allowed only one journey on the underground in zone 1, but when I exited at Holborn, the barrier returned my ticket. Could I have used it for further tube journeys in zone 1?

Extending the period of a season ticket

Is it possible to extend the period of a season ticket? Mine runs until Friday 27 Feb, so could I for example extend it to end on the following Friday, or would I have to simply buy a new weekly?

Break of Journey at London Bridge

Thanks for the comments. I'm glad to report my ticket operated the London Bridge barriers both ways today.

Break of Journey at London Bridge

Would an East Croydon - Hendon (Not Unerground) ticket still be valid for break of journey at London Bridge? I know it used to be but just wanted to check now Thameslink no longer goes via London Bridge.

    Exit and re-entry

If you exit then re-enter a station using a valid season ticket is there a time within which the gates will reject the ticket for re-entry? I've an idea the ticket might get rejected for re-entry within 10 minutes of exit, but don't know if I'm right.

    Season Ticket Prices

Thanks. So while I still have the West Hampstead ticket, if I want to go to Hendon, do I just get a return West Hampstead - Hendon at East Croydon, or should I ask for an excess?

    Season Ticket Prices

I've noticed that a season ticket from Croydon Stations to West Hampstead Thameslink, Cricklewood and Hendon are all the same price. Does that mean that a ticket to West Hampstead Thameslink would be valid to the other two stations?

    Rezoning of Croydon Stations

I've noticed there's a campaign to re-zone East and West Croydon stations from zone 5 to 4, or to make them dual zone 4/5. The campaign's now getting a fair bit of coverage in the area, and just wondered if people think it has much chance of success. http://www.zone4croydon.com/

    Buying a Monthly Season Ticket

That is in fact what happened at East Croydon - he entered my photocard number which retrieved my name and address, maybe because I'd filled in a form there in the past, though if so it would have been years ago.

    Buying a Monthly Season Ticket

No, in fact I'm going to do that this afternoon - I just wanted to check it was the only option open to me, and it seems like it is. I guess I was hoping that the whole rigmorole of going to the ticket office and filling in a form might have come to an end, but it seems not. I've never...

    Buying a Monthly Season Ticket

I tried that, it allows you to get so far, then says there are no delivery options available for the dates / route chosen, presumably meaning the only delivery option would be post, for which it's too late.

    Buying a Monthly Season Ticket

I've always bought weekly season tickets before, and bought them online, collecting via the machine at my local station i.e. just the same as for any other rail ticket. I tried to buy a monthly season this morning to start on 1 December, but it seems to be not possible. I tried a few...

    East Croydon to Fareham

Sorry, should have said I don't want to be restricted to specific services, so wouldn't go for the Advance singles.

    East Croydon to Fareham

I'm looking for a day return from East Croydon to Fareham on Thursday 20 November. I have a Network Railcard. The best I've come up with so far is the Southern DaySave for £15, though it restricts me to travel after 1000. That's OK though I also wouldn't mind going a bit earlier.

    Ticket collection

Thanks for all the replies. Fortunately I used Southern's money back guarantee but at least I'm now a bit wiser about where I can, and can't, pick up tickets from.

    Ticket collection

Is it possible to collect a ticket booked online from any station, or does it have to be from the station you chose when booking? I ask because I made a mistake recently when booking, nominating East Dulwich rather than East Croydon as the pickup location. As it didn't seem possible to...

Access to/from platforms at Elephant and Castle

The E&C Shopping Centre has an interesting history and was originally envisaged as a fair bit bigger than what eventually got built. At the time of building (1965) it was the first of its kind in Europe. It never seemed that successful as a mainstream shopping centre, but now seems more...

Stations you don't want to go to/be at

I think the grimmest station I've encountered is Bethnal Green. I last used it some years ago, so maybe it's been improved, but it was really dismal - no indicators, announcements, or staff, with just a vandalised shelter for passengers. The only nice thing was you get quite a good view of the...
