On Sat 1 Feb I need to travel from Croydon to Gomshall, then later the same day return to Croydon from Holmwood. Each ticket is £7.50 single, but is there any cheaper return ticket I could get which would cover both journeys?

Thank you. I took bb21's advice and did the whole trip on a return to Tonbridge. Unfortunately it wouldn't operate the gates at Oxted, though they were opened remotely after I pressed the help button (and I know not operating the gates doesn't mean the ticket's not valid) - otherwise no problems.

I can now answer my own question. I took my Megatrain confirmation along to East Croydon station today and asked for a Portsmouth Plusbus ticket. Was sold one for £2.70 without any questions.

I guess my question is more how do I buy the PlusBus ticket. There's no indication on the Megatrain website that they sell them, though I haven't actually purchased the rail ticket yet. Would I have to buy the rail ticket from Megatrain first then take the confirmation to a National Rail...
