I tried to board on a Avanti service from London last weekend using the online electronic cycle reservation from GWR, which doesn't need you to print out the reservation (actually, cannot be printed in ticket office).
But Avanti crews seems don't accept that and insisted a paper form, which GWR...
I am planning to do a journey on a Sunday early morning from Blackpool to Manchester City Centre.
It's happy to be able to find a very early RRB service to get to Manchester at 0530. However, it is shocking to find out that it is pick-up only at Manchester Piccadilly for the final destination...
Have anyone tried to use Scotrail Smartcard to load any non Scottish point to point tickets or London in boundary travelcard through non Scottish ticket barrier or mobile app?
I have checked the National Rail journey planner for information of daily rate refund of usused season ticket. However, there are clear mentioning of daily rate refund of season ticket.
Is that mean, no pro rata refund of season ticket during the strike if I plan to use the season ticket on the...
When I check the Eurostar site about ticket office at St Pancras, and now shocked to see they charge £10 booking fee with ticket desk or telesales.
Do this apply also to civ tickets? If so, would it be better to buy a London International CIV ticket instead to save cost, if travelling from SE...
When doing some oyster single-fare exercise, particularly on avoiding zone 1 journeys, there is quite a bit of issue from Abbey Wood Station.
Firstly would be the West Silvertown - King George V, and Island Garden - Heron Quay fares. The default fare is a NR-TfL Zone 3-4 fare, which is okay...
I was delayed on a northbound service from London at night and the guard van door was faulty and cannot carry bikes and the conductor advised to get to ticket office for the next train.
Got an official note stamped by ticket office (they kept one record for theirs as well) for the next train.
As...
I was trying to plan a trip for the coming weekend (4 days), for travelling to Leeds, Sheffield, and Greater Manchester (up to Horwich and Altrincham).
However, I am a bit puzzle to find a ranger/rover that can cover all of them.
We got South Pennies, but that not covering west of Manchester...
Generally, drinks in first class on the trains are served by crew by trolley at seat.
If customers feeling thirsty, would they be allowed to go to the buffet car to get extra water / soft / hot drinks, or even alcoholic drinks?
I find out that Family Daysaver is cheaper than two adult tickets. In the description, it mentioned about 2 adults with 3 children or 1 adult with 4 children. But it is okay with no children to use this ticket?

Pretty much the problem of travelling with bikes on intercity service is, there's no system to check bike availability before you book, which may cost people many wasted advance...
On 1st May, my friend is organising a trip visiting both Hastings and Ashford International.
May I know whether London - Hastings / Rye / Appledore will be able to cover both Hastings and Ashford International?
I find it is quite messy when trying to book cycle space on GWR services online, as when you successfully searched for a cycle space, you will also reserve that.
However the problem is, when having a group of 3 or 4 cycles on a 10-car Class 800, it is a nightmare as you would unsure whether...
Cross London journey is a interesting bit, as it mentioned about any reasonable route.
I got a friens who is based near Balham / Wandsworth Common and want to go to Sevenoaks over the weekend. Noticing that Balham - Sevenoaks ticket is cheaper than two LU journeys + London - Sevenoaks return...
According to their blog in 2021, they are unable to provide cycle reservation.

Is it still the case for now? If so, that's a shame as travelling long distance for a cycle trip like from London to Yorkshire, would really need a well...
In future, all TOCs branding would likely be removed, which means that a lot of TOC-specified fares are unlikely to stand by their own as not having separate TOCs.
Many of them are actually differ by the nature of the operation, which is local (Northern / WMR) vs Regional (Northern / LNR /...
I was looking for trains to travel between London and Macclesfield during the last week of April.
I am not sure whether Avanti is still having over-strict social distancing policy which causes not enough seats can be sold on the service.
However, I am surprised to see trainsplit being unable to...
There will be engineering work tomorrow between Wandsworth Road and Clapham junction, meaning LO trains will be diverted to Battersea Park.
Despite NR journey planner has shown a through not via London fare for interchange between Queenstown Road and Battersea Park, but I am surprised to see no...
When looking at the development of underground networks across the world, most countries stopped building sub-standard size underground since WWI.
However, this leads to my query that, why Victoria Line was built in deep tube size despite there's warning about the capacity issue since day 1 and...
I am going to have some friends from Hong Kong going to visit me, and planning to do quite some train bashing, which the pass may give some good value.
In case of delay, is the delay repay scheme applies, or need to go through the customer service of the reseller / TOC for a lengthy claim...
