I have a Z1-3 annual Travelcard issued at London Marylebone. The associated Gold Record Card is almost completely faded so I am trying to get it replaced, as staff are looking very askance at it when I present it.
I went to Marylebone and was told that the Oyster pad on the ticket office...
I heard a rumour that in the next NFM Arriva Northern will be removing anytime returns (SOR) from a number of flows and introducing a new ticket type called "short return" (SHR) instead with the outbound half valid only on the day of issue instead of for five days. Anyone know anything about...
I hold an annual zone 1-3 Travelcard on my Oyster card, which I purchased from London Marylebone station. As this cost over £1,500, I am now entitled to free unlimited weekend and bank holiday travel on Chiltern Railways services.
If I travel on a Chiltern Railways service, using this...
I should like to book a return trip between CDG Airport and Marne la Vallée Chessy out on 29-NOV-15 and back on 02-DMR-15. Voyages-SNCF steadfastly refuses to sell me tickets or even show train times. I can price it up on B-Europe but it requires me to collect the tickets in person from a...
We have had previous threads where Virgin Trains West Coast issues large rail travel vouchers as compensation for customer service issues, with highly generic letters. This seems to be continuing. My wife and her mate have each had £50 for a half-hour delay on a Birmingham Intl to London Euston...
Is a 60+ Oyster card deemed to be a season ticket for the purpose of NRCoC 19 (c)? Specifically, can it be used as the first in a "string" of three or more tickets where the train does not call at one or more of the stations where the passenger changes from one ticket to the next?
I have two credit cards that, by chance, end in the same last four digits.
I used one to book a ticket (on FGW's app, for the record) and the other to collect from a Southeastern TVM.
This was allowed, suggesting that the system only checks the last four digits of the card number.
Trainsplit and our members Mike@Raileasy, SickyNicky, and Indigo2 have been written up on page 10 of today's Sunday Times under the above headline explaining the science of ticket splitting. This forum gets a hat-tip for bringing everyone together.
The Sunday Times website is paywalled so the...
Virgin, Southern and London Midland services are severely disrupted owing to a passenger under a train at or about Leighton Buzzard. Currently NRE says they expect lines to reopen around 2030.

I understand the train involved was 2M55, the 1707...
I should like to travel from Lee (London) to Canterbury Stations on 21 February. I hold an Annual Gold Card though not on any part of the route in question. I should like to travel Lee-Dartford-Gravesend-Ebbsfleet Int-Ashford Int-Canterbury West. I note from BRFares.com that an off-peak day...
A customer with no Travelcard and a Railcard discount on his Oyster card travels from Paddington LU to Lewisham NR via Charing Cross at 5pm, his first journey that day. He joins bus 75, paying 5p, and thereafter joins a tram. How much is he charged for the tram ride?
I went to get my Gold Card discount extended on my Oyster card at an LU station this morning having bought a new paper Gold Card. During the process, "Adjust PAYG" very briefly flashed up on the display screen for less than a second and the CSA said nothing about it. Curious, I checked my Oyster...
The fare from Shoreditch High Street (SDC) to New Cross (NWX) is charged as a National Rail zone 1-2 journey at £2 (all fares quoted are adult Oyster off-peak) but to New Cross Gate (NXG) it's a TfL journey at £2.20.
Any ideas why? I understood that journeys made on London Overground...
With the Z1-3 Travelcard annual going up to £1,508 in the new year, I wonder if Chiltern will offer purchasers its usual free weekend travel offer as it is now over the £1,500 threshold? I suppose the one thing that might muddy the waters is that the conditions say the ticket must be valid on...
My mum and I are travelling from Kings Cross to Doncaster and back on Saturday (as are many other people ;)) I am considering redeeming East Coast reward points for first class lounge passes for us. I notice the site does not allow you to purchase two passes in one transaction nor to enter a...
FCC Only tickets are still available online for the 14th of September and onwards. I wonder what will happen when such a ticket is tendered for travel? Indeed, my mother would like to use one on the 14th.
