If I use Oyster Card on GWR for the area that GWR allow oyster on, do I pay the GWR fares, or do I pay the fare based on the TFL zone system?
Also do GWR fares count towards the relevant zone cap?
A very bloody international bus war is about to launch between Dublin and Belfast with FirstGroup company Aircoach and Dublin Coach, that is owned ironically by the founder of Aircoach. Everything that has been seen so far suggests it's going to be possibly the biggest bus war seen in these...
Fairly sure I know the answer to this, but because I have not been using a season ticket for 10 years, can someone confirm?
If I buy a season ticket from one station to another, lets say Ipswich-Marks Tey, can I also travel short?
For example:
Colchester - Manningtree
Ipswich -...
A friend has found a way to travel from Peterborough to Ipswich for £13.10 instead of £24 and asked me if it is possible.
Basically normally the fare is
Peterborough to Ipswich - Anytime Single - £24 (No advances or off-peak on this route)
However in the journey planners he can find a...
Having not been to the West Midlands for 3 years and the fact 3 years ago the bus service and state of vehicles left a huge amount to be desired, last week I was in Birmingham to see what had changed and I must admit that things had very much got better.
The transformation is astonishing...
What on Earth has been going on the last few months? I haven't used them since before September and always thought they were better than National Express but my experiences over the last few days have been very frustrating to say the least.
I've been on 4 different loco hauled Class 90's with...

Couldn't believe the figures I was seeing when I read this, they are looking for 50% pay rises in some cases and are willing to go on strike during a general election campaign in order to get it.
Stansted Express are replacing trains with buses for most of the next weekend.
They state the journey will take approx 1 hour by bus with buses operating every 15 mins? If anyone here has used the bus replacement, is it reliable and is the time that AGA give accurate?
I have a flight at...

He wasn't away from the Group for very long at all. Now it becomes clear why he first of all was appointed as MD of Abellio Scotrail after they won the franchise from First, only to leave only a few weeks later...
I've just booked an advance ticket from Ipswich to London and was assigned a seat as normal, but someone is travelling with me who is traveling further.
As they will be on a different booking, it means we cannot sit together?
The Roof at Cork Kent Station in Ireland has collapsed following a heavy downpour and wind.

They have now started to be delivered, and what great vehicles they look too

Seems a good upgrade on the existing fleet, although It'll be interesting to see how they hold up as the build quality of the Enviro's tends to be less than the Gemini's mostly.
Is this completely dead now? Doesn't seem to be much on the Scotrail site.
Reason being I'll be in Scotland for several weeks, but I've lost my card, I was going to request a new one be sent out but that option isn't online anymore?
Hi All,
Doing some research for a friend and her husband what is the best way to do a journey between Edinburgh and Ipswich on a Friday, without breaking the bank. They can travel anytime on these days after 7am as long as they arrive at Ipswich before 8pm. This would be in November, but the...
How often do East Midlands Trains clean their trains? The reason I asked is that I got a service from the terminus of Liverpool to Nottingham and the whole train was full of rubbish like a bomb had gone off or something, alcohol cans everywhere that were not finished and leaking all over the...
Having used these last week is there any worse bus company in the UK? I must admit I thought they would be bad (bad experiences with National Express wherever I have been), but they really took the biscuits.
In just three days I managed to see
- Drivers going the wrong way
- A different driver...
Just a quick question regarding the Merseyrail City Line.
This line seems to be operated by Northern despite the fact it shows as part of the Merseyrail network on their website.
What does that mean for the validity of Merseyrail daysaver tickets? Are they valid on these services?
