Can anyone give me a map for the above.
There is a daily unlimited use ticket for 3.90 that covers 2 zones and 1 area and another which covers all zones. Whilst if you put a start and end station on their website it tells you the number of zones or areas, there appears to be no map...
Maybe I'm missing something here, but the fares are:
£4.00 off-peak single
€4.70 anytime single
£6.80 First class anytime single
€9.10 First class anytime return
£9.40 standard class anytime return.
Is this one of the rare occasions when it is cheaper to buy a first class anytime return than...
So as you know there are 2 for 1 offers for places outside London that can be used with any type of train tickets as part of the National Rail ATOC promotion.
Now maybe I'm stupid, but say I fly in from a different country to manchester, and then buy a open return ticket from Manchester...
One of my friends from Italy is coming to Manchester to see the city and also see Liverpool and a concert. They'll be in Manchester for a week and wanted to see all of the sights etc and was wondering what the best way to do that is.
I see that Stagecoach do a weekly ticket for 12.50 and First...
Quick question, since I've never done this before but it will come in useful for the future.
Does the Oyster daily capping for tube journeys also include journeys taken on National Rail such as FCC for example when used within the same zones.
For example if I have hit the Zone 1-4 cap, and...
Hi All,
The other day a friend of mine has their Stansted flights changed due to the weather disruption and due to this lost their nicely priced advance ticket from Stansted to Ipswich. With the walk up price for Stansted Express and Ipswich to London being pretty signifcent and the fact they...
I just have been reading up details on the profits of ROSCO's and I'm amazed at how much money they make, they seem to have huge margins compared to the Train Operating Companies and surely this is something that needs to be addressed going forward.
What I don't know is now that they own all...
I went on one of these for the first time a couple of days ago, noticed there were not many of them around as I thought, and still some of the old Stansted Express units running around.
My initial impressions were quite good. They're certainly nice and bright inside and having the plug sockets...

What is everyone's thoughts on this? Whilst it sounds good in practice, there are a number of pitfalls.
For example sometimes when I would be traveling I would not get the first...
This should be a lesson to everyone who uses this train,.
It seems the Stansted Express ticket collection system is on a different platform to all of the other ticket systems throughout the country. I know when you book tickets online from virtually anywhere you can collect them at any time...
How these days are TOC's, specifically NXEA dealing with Advance tickets that have been hit by engineering works resulting in what would normally be one train, being two trains and a bus inbetween?
The reason I asked, is last time I traveled during one of these situations I got penalty fared...
Saw this going through Ipswich on Monday, a class 90 hauling towards Norwich with the usual array of coaches, but the back vehicle was just a first class MK3? Nothing else there at all? I wondered how it got to London before going back to Norwich and how it will get back?
What is going on with these? Not only are they gong around with a blank purple livery (NX have only had the franchise for six years now) for about 18 months with marks from their old FGE livery and the odd random white stripe, but now they've started to rip seats out and replace them with...
Seems they're investing quite a bit right now, to go with the recently announced entertainment class on the HST's

Hi,
What happens if you cannot collect advance tickets as the ticket machines are broken? The reason being it happened to a friend at a certain station, and both Ticket Machines were out of action and the ticket office said they could not print them.
My friend got the train 15 minutes before...
Firstly a few questions
1) Which weekday morning services after 9 are most likely to have the full express cafe service as opposed to the new smaller ones? I used to know this down to a T but since they changed their timetable it seems that it has changed somewhat.
2) Are FGW still doing an at...
I just got this via email.
Is this the same as the previous Express Cafes that were released when the HST's were refurbished like this:

Or is it different as it seems to suggest different?
