Hello all
I want to travel as follows and need some advice as to routing and possible splits.
Feb 5 carlisle to Euston am
Feb 5 London to Derby pm
Feb 6 Derby to carlisle pm.
I don't think I can do this on one return ticket so any advice appreciated. Thank you
Cheds
Work on the railway at carlisle has gone well today in good weather. The defences DID collapse next to the railway, I saw this myself and have the photos. The story that the water came 'over the top' of the defences is not entirely true.
Anyway, we've got power now but no heat nor satellite...
300234: Customers travelling from Appleby or Kirkby Stephen to Penrith and beyond may travel via Carlisle. But they may not travel on journeys that include any of the following locations, Hellifield; Blackburn; Bolton; Salford; Manchester or Stalybrdge,This easement applies in both...
So to be clear for the last minute redeemers......
Redeem by 30 September
Book ticket by 30 March 2016
Travel after 30 March provided tickets are available ( typically 12 weeks).
So you can travel until late June 2016!
Someone confirm or correct if you would, and thanks
Thanks for the responses. Yes, tried train split, which takes the trip through Birmingham (hence my wondering about a different route).
On the two tickets - if she gets two separate advances she can 'miss' the booked train with impunity, ainsworth? Thanks again
Hello
A friends problem but I'm struggling due to cross country prices!
1 person, no railcard, out Friday 24 July back 27 July. Times flexible and indeed route flexible.
Not madly keen on a tight connection at eg Birmingham with two separate advances for obvious reasons.
Thanks in...
Thanks all. It's now bedtime where I am but I've sent an email enquiry to britrail and will report anything useful back.

Dear Xxx. The BritRail range was re-launched on 1st January 2015...
I'm sitting in Hong Kong right now trying to sort one out for a friend here. I've gone through britrail and cap and have the one month options only.
The speed of your response was impressive......
Hello
Do any of you within the industry know why some Britrail options have apparently been removed? In previous years there were 'x days in two months' options but now there seems to be only 'x days in one month'.
Thanks
Hi all,
There is a helpful easement which allows those of us travelling from Appleby to the south to go north first, via Carlisle. Once there, you can use Virgin/WCML which can save time and is often more comfortable. So far so good.
Now, Carlisle to Leicester is allowed via Birmingham...
The outcome of this was that it got escalated to complaints and I said I was prepared to be flexible in terms of response. They offered two comp tickets for anywhere on the uk megabus/megatrain network and my money back.
I thought this was near enough. Perhaps I could try an 'interesting' new...
Thank you yorkie, authoritative as ever.
The additional twist here is that the actual train booked ISNT running. My look at the virgin website suggests that it was taken off (because of Christmas Eve) a good time before megatrain advertised it. There is no later train by any operator on that...
Megatrain advertised trains on west coast line for Christmas Eve.
Cheds dad booked two tickets.
Megatrain then emailed to say that all 'trains' had been cancelled for the day.
Cheds Dad had a look at the virgin website.
Some of the train times advertised by megatrain are indeed running...
