So what if someone wanted to buy a signal box to reuse eg as a cafe or as accommodation? Or whatever. Understood that access may be an issue, as would safety, but otherwise?
Cheers

Cheds didn't write this, Cheds Dad did. Because Cheds can't write. Or read. But he can use some BSL.
The point remains that no posters on here have sufficient information to KNOW what this woman's disability is, so conjecture doesn't help.
As for 'people with learning...
Cheds Dad is rather alarmed by the several on this board who seem able to diagnose this person's disability from very limited information.
Cheds Dad does not know whether the TM was correct or not, and nor do others.
Cheds Dad does know that Cheds cannot use a TVM. And that Cheds has a...
Hello
cheds has a single ticket as follows:
Edinburgh 1 may 1000/Kings Cross 1415 approx, 1 adult ticket, booked train only.
This is actually a EC rewards ticket so IS transferable.
I can't now use it so if anyone else can drop me a pm with your postal address(it's a paper ticket)...
So this is the third (at least) version of the routing guide to be in use in well under a year. I don't see how this helps passengers get a 'reliable' train service (since the permissions can and do vary). I also don't see how staff are supposed to keep up, or how it helps to have to revise...
Hi,
Do you mean penrith rail station to penrith bus station? If so, it's about 300 yards so easily walkable if you are confident ( I note the username).
If you are heading west on a bus, they all stop at penrith rail station anyway.
Pm if I can help.
The invitation we got yesterday refers to a 'relaunch' and says 'we're back' at the top. How does that fit with ending next November, I wonder?
Happy to pm if it helps.
Hello
A bit late but....
Guests from Nottingham coming up on 29/12 am, returning from Carlisle 30/12 pm. 2 adults, 1 14 year old, no railcard (but could get one of course).
I've had a look at routes through Manchester and Leeds. 79£ each adult showing for the first, about 4 hours each...
Hello
Cheds Dad has been invited to join this if he does at least 16 single/8 return first class journeys in 90 days. Minimum cost £800 (16 x 50 or 8 x 100).
The reward/bribe/bonus is free first class travel for self and spouse, plus take the kids for £10. I assume this is not unlimited.
Any...
Euston first class lounge will close for refurb on or about January 17th for about six weeks for a refurb. I'm in their now and the member of staff says she is excited by the new sofas...
Might explain while the coffee machine is bust and replaced by instant instead of being repaired!
thank you all. I had the oxenholme split and had thought, like Yorkie, of going through ormskirk (which doesn't work on sundays).
But the preston split and svr to gobowen is really helpful because it allows any route. thanks again.
Hello
One adult, no railcard, travel to Gobowen Sunday 24 November lunchtimeish and return to Carlisle Wednesday 27 November late afternoon.
with routes through Warrington, Chester or Shrewsbury there should be some scope for splits I think. The quoted return is £78. Ive got this down, but...
Hooray! We finally get a post or two (this and a post or two just above) which acknowledges that disability is not always physical. Accessible environments are not just about having lifts, but also small things like printing the text on tickets a bit bigger if a asked or bigger things like...
Thanks to jnjkerbin and ushawk for east coast timetable changes, appreciated very much.
What happens if the train for which someone has an advance ticket is no longer timetabled? Reasonableness all round or are there rules?
Cheds and Dad are booked from Newcastle to London at 1128 on Monday, which might not turn out to be the best timing ever!
Any EastCoast specialists who could provide info nearer the time or Monday morning will be thanked...
And take care all those out and about if this is really difficult.
I may have to bow to eagle's superior knowledge here, but I thought there was track between Melton and Loughborough which doesn't pass through other stations? Eg for nottingham - east Anglian routes
