Virgin trains loyalty club/first class 'traveller'

Cheds Dad has been invited to join this if he does at least 16 single/8 return first class journeys in 90 days. Minimum cost £800 (16 x 50 or 8 x 100).
The reward/bribe/bonus is free first class travel for self and spouse, plus take the kids for £10. I assume this is not unlimited.

Any comments?

It's limited to one trip per weekend anywhere on the Virgin network. You can travel out any time from Friday until Sunday. Return can be any time from Saturday until noon Monday. Availability is generally very good except at peak times on Friday and Monday morning.

I go down to London about 18 weekends a year, and up to Manchester and Liverpool on quite a few others, so Traveller has been brilliant for me. Will be sorry to see it go next November.

The invitation we got yesterday refers to a 'relaunch' and says 'we're back' at the top. How does that fit with ending next November, I wonder?

November refers to the end date of membership for those who are currently members. It isn't necessarily the end of the scheme though.

You can actually travel outbound on a Monday as well. I've done an early Monday start and return just before midday for a work meeting a couple of months ago.
