Hi there.
I need to get to Penzance urgently on Friday 29th
I expected due to the day of the week, time (18.03) and closeness of the travel date to pay (circa) £180 for a first class single.
Great Western's site is showing £718!!
Surely this is a mistake.... ? I could hire a limo to take...
I also travelled with W/S three weeks ago and had the hot meal option in first class.
I was also nowhere near as impressed by the service and food as other people seem to have been on here - though everyone is allowed an off day and this must have been their one!
The main course was tepid -...
I have just called the 'gold service' number at SWT and they confirmed that they do no longer issue the 6 free tickets on the Ryde Esplanade/Ryde St John's Rd and that it was highly unlikely that I did this journey on a daily basis because of where I live.
Fact is I did get the tickets some...
I use the Hastings to Ashford line at least twice weekly and it is definitely worth it as I always get a seat on a (usually) packed 2 carriage train. Southern do an off peak first return ticket at a considerable reduction on the normal full price fare.
Hi there.
Is the rumour true that SWT will cease to run a train service West of Exeter from the change of timetable in December of this year and if so why?
Many thanks for any information that youmay have on this.
Does anyone know why I cannot get the 10.00 weekday departure from Paddington to Torquay to show up as a service or a fare on national rail enquiries?
Iwant to travel on it next week.
It will show if you type in Lon Padd to Swindon (then it shows the train terminating at Paignton)
Thanks.
I had a look at the menu for standard class passengers on the W & S site a while ago.
It mentions a silver service option in standard class.
Does this mean that by paying the £12.95 (I think it was), that you can be served a two course meal at your seat - or do they - like Virgin give you a...
I want to write a letter to the station (or area) manager for Hastings station but cannot seem to find this information anywhere.
Both Southern and Southeastern run trains from here and I did not know if the station shares a manager for both stations or whether I have to write two seperate...
I put in a thread about this about 2 months ago asking if any ticket staff could tell us punters the screen that they use for this upgrade so that I can tell my local station (St Leonards Warrior Square) how to issue the upgrade - as they and the staff at Hastings say that it does not exist even...
I have an annual gold card and keep trying to use it after 10am on various routes.
As I do a lot of long (ish) journeys to do with work, I nearly always pay the £5 extra 1st supplement.
I have had nothing but problems trying to get train or ticket staff to give me the supplement ticket - some...
Hi there.
I am going to Southampton tommorow.
I have just been on the National Rail site to get fares.
I have an annual gold card and when I put in a day return journey for tommorow leaving Hastings at 10.15 returning Southampton at 6pmish,
the fare comes out as showing a one third discount...
I am going to Hereford on Sat 28th and want
to get the direct train from Paddington that leaves after 4pm.
Can anyone tell me what type of train they use on this run please, as I want to bring my bike (which does not fold) and I need to know if they will require a reservation for it and if...
Does anyone out there know why W&S trains do not allow you to buy a ticket to Banbury station from Marylebone - even though they stop there to pick passengers up?
I tried to book a ticket for travel at the weekend (thinking I could get a proper breakfast on the train) and the website will not...
I am about to purchase a gold card next week.
I am finding the t&c's a little confusing on the National Rail website.
If I purchase an off peak ticket from (say) Hastings to Weymouth -going via Brighton - Southampton route, will I get a third off the normal return ticket and then be able to...
I would like travel up to Inverness on the 12pm (Highland Cheiftan) on a weekday in the next week or so.
I am finding the information given by NXEC in their website a little confusing.
On the timetable it shows the knife and fork symbol for food service continuing well North of Edinburgh - I...
