First class single to Penzance Friday.

Hi there.

I need to get to Penzance urgently on Friday 29th
I expected due to the day of the week, time (18.03) and closeness of the travel date to pay (circa) £180 for a first class single.
Great Western's site is showing £718!!
Surely this is a mistake.... ? I could hire a limo to take me there for that amount.
Any help would be appreciated.

Please can you confirm where you're travelling from?

I'm assuming London Paddington, as you refer to the 18:03 departure?

If this is correct, a quick look on East Coast's website shows a First Anytime Single for £179.50, which is fine for the 18:03 Paddington to Penzance.

Having not checked on FGW's website, i don't know why it's quoting an extremely high price...

A quick look I get London Paddington Penzance £179.50 1st Sgl.
Or choose the 19:03 departure at £85.

£718 is the price for 4 First Anytime Singles, or 2 First Anytime Returns.

If the OP is coming back, he may wish to consider the First Off Peak Return at £229.
