It's the "escape to the country" impact that is impacting the Moorgate services. Back in early days of GN it was rare to commute from distant parts of Cambrideshire and hence demand for more outer paths was lower.
The large population growth in towns 50+ miles north is impacting the Metro...
Having witnessed something else like this recently I am quite emotive on the subject, so forgive my cynicism.
It's a dreadful situation and I think Brexit vote has given the far right an excuse to do such things.
So 'progress' is not having a 17.51 KGX to CBG semi fast now?
And the 17.21 isn't running.
Great work Grant...
Awaiting the justification from the usual suspects.
What was shocking this morning at HAT was that staff (all four of them) had no idea the 7.32 from WGC was not going to run. Clearly RTT was saying that but they had no means to check.
They rang WGC and then it was confirmed, but RTT had this info but staff didn't know what RTT was or how to...
Hence why this shambles is now a huge political issue and marginal MPs like Shapps are nervously assessing the impact.
Austerity for the Home Counties is usually something done "up north" and out of their back yard, however the 'ignorant' Tory voters of Herts have suddenly realised what you...
Of course it was but the austerity introduced by Cameron's government has defined how these trains are built.
If you voted for that you cannot then moan about softer seats.
I was making a fair point I think.
The country has voted for austerity why would funding for trains be any different.
Brexit or nice seats, you can't have both.
There is a need as the extra luxury costs money and who exactly pays for that?
If it's the Taxpayer you can imagine the Daily Mail's view on 'fat cat commuters' getting nice seats funded by white van man and the baby boomers (who all fought through two world wars don't forget....)
If it's us...
Specifically around Hadley Wood, the ugly security fencing having been installed in the Spring has been removed.
What a waste of time and money!
So much better without it so wondering when and where it went?
What is enlightening is that it's quicker to get a fast train from STP to St Albans and then 724 bus to HAT than taking the 'fasts' KGX to HAT. Until the 313's are gone or unless the 51 and 21 are re-routed back to the FL I can see this remaining to be the case.
Meltdown at HAT again and I assume WGC too. 725 HAT to KGX cancelled despite being shown as running on GN website twenty minutes ago. No 737 service, no 755 and so on. Down services also delayed or cancelled. Taxi....
yes it's warm and lovely weather so why then do GTR seemingly switch off the aircon on all 700 units?
I have travelled in many cities including Singapore and HK where they manage to cool their trains without a problem.
How does the aircon work in the 700 unit, it it gas based as used in cars...
