As I'm booked on one of the railtours over the Easter period, what is likely to happen? Cancellations? postponements? So far no reply from the tour operator
I was just watching the news and saw that the poor people who have been suffering with all the flooding problems in Cumbria area. Because of various bridges collapsing they have to endure a dreadful and uncomfortable journey by a 2 car DMU of sorts.
Wouldn't you think that management would do...
I was horrified to hear about the overcrowding on the 10.20 ex B'ham New Street to Scotland last Friday. My family were travelling on that train and all was well until they reached Crewe. Apparently it became so overcrowded on this 5 car voyager, that no one could move and a lady who was...
As there are 3 portions that come from Inverness Aberdeen and Fort William, how are the various sections put together before the whole thing moves on to Euston?
A sad day for rail enthusiasts to see Past Time Rail have gone into liquidation leaving many people out of pocket no doubt. However a new company Torbay Express has taken over the summer charters from Bristol to Torbay. I only hope someone will rescue the Cotton Mill Express tours.

After the fiasco on Monday night when the Penzance sleeper was cancelled, when my friend got home there was a full refund and a free First Class ticket waiting for him.
Well done FGW for excellent Customer Service.
Yet again last night's sleeper train was substituted by an HST because of an unserviceable Cl 57. This is not the first time this has happened but it does bring in the question of the class's reliability performance. Rather than disappoint customers why couldn't they bring another one in or a 47...

Are we turning into a police state or is it the press going over the top again?
Haven't these over zealous 'operatives' of security got anything better to do? What goes through their minds when they deal with children?

I have booked 5 railtours this year only to have 3 of them cancelled so far. The excuses are usually low bookings. The latest being the City of Glasgow explorer next weekend.
I now find that looking at the list of cancellations on railway herald that it seems to be certain Companies (no names...
Anyone know why this tour has been cancelled for the 17th? Pathfinders have promised a letter but as usual nothing has come. I have just come back from the Middle East for some leave and was looking forward to this trip.
There seem to be other cancellations during May. Whats wrong? surely...
I have just read the article in the Daily Mail about how a lady was humiliated and ill treated 'nazi' style by inspectors on the route from Liverpool Street to Colchester.
Have these vile evil people got no compassion for commuters who pay upwards of £4000 a year to travel. Is this because...
