East Coast's Mixing Deck seems to have forgotten about the Gold Card discount.
If you choose it on the homepage, then it will apply succesfully, but on the Mixing Deck, if you click Amend Search, the railcard will vanish and it's not in the list to readd
Today I a bit disappointed when I attempted to get a weekly season ticket re-issued at a Greater Anglia station. The clerk consulted with a colleague and told me that they don't re-issue broken weekly seasons if the original was issued by another TOC, as there is no record of what's been issued...
I've had a few run-ins lately with gateline staff on London Overground, all relating to exiting at an intermediate station on a permitted route with a point to point season ticket. This is the shortest most obvious route for the ticket, and also the one that NRE brings up with no via points...
I commute between London Overground-operated stations on a paper season ticket, starting short from the printed origin on the ticket.
I have had this season issued by London Overground, Southern and Greater Anglia which work fine. However, my latest two tickets were bought from Northern and...
Sometimes I want to buy an odd assortment of various tickets from a ticket office. The tickets may need different dates, railcards, number of passengers travelling etc.
On several occasions I have written these details on a piece of paper in a list (typed as my handwriting sucks) to hand to...
Hi all,
A friend of mine has a SWT-issued Oyster card which he got when he bought an annual Travelcard from Wimbledon. The card has some sort of marker against it meaning he cannot register it on TfL's website to activate Auto top-up. The season ticket has now expired and as he now works from...
FGW and Southern both offer the sale of season tickets through their websites. If I buy an annual through one of these sites, valid between two stations in the Network area, will it come on Gold card stock?
As seen in this attachment, The Train line appear to have bought some Google ads for the term 'National Rail Enquiries'. The advert title has NRE's name even. I think this is very misleading to the public, and clearly underhanded
Things like this might explain why ATOC/TISL applied for those...
Can anyone explain this? I thought that mixed mode is never cheaper than a single mode.
Canada Water Underground - Vauxhall Underground £2.20
(presumably by Jubilee & Victoria lines)
Canada Water Underground - Vauxhall Rail £1.60
(presumably Jubilee to Waterloo then SWT)
Prices are...
Has anyone else noticed that recently, TVMs are taking a very long time to issue ToD coupons? My last few ToD collections from London Overground East London Line TVMs have been slow, with the machine hanging for some time after entering the code with 'Please wait...'. These were booked with RSH...
I understand that season Travelcards on Oyster cards do not class as being issued by a PTE or local authority for the purposes of section 19C of the NRCoC.
Does the same hold true for discounted Travelcards issued on 18+ Student Oysters? These Oysters are only available from TfL and not...
Hi all,
It's only a beta, but you might want to check out http://split.traintimes.org.uk/ It's another split ticketing engine. Don't direct any comments about it at me, as I didn't make it.
Can someone with local knowledge recommend good places for parking a car near Leicester station around 10am - noon on a weekday?
Also, how easy is it to find a space and how much is it likely to cost for parking at this time near Leicester or East Midlands Parkway stations?
Thanks :)
I know this is old news, but I've only just found out and couldn't find any threads on this.
Temporary rail staff agency Trainpeople.co.uk has been liquidated. This is showing on their website and also on Companies House.
In my eyes this is a good thing, as we need permanent, well-trained...
I've just searched on EastCoast.co.uk for:
One way
From: London Terminals
To: Stalybridge
Via: Huddersfield
April 18
Depart after 07 00
1 Adults
16-25 Railcard 1
and got an itinerary in the screenshot below. Can anyone explain why it wants me to take the tube from Kings Cross to Finsbury Park...
The BBC reports
I think cuts at HEx are inevitable really once we have Crossrail. In fact, will there even be room for Heathrow Express, Heathrow Connect, Piccadilly line and Crossrail all to compete the the same journey opportunities? It seems like a lot of duplicated effort.
Given that...
Today I received a surprise letter through the post from FGW about some disruption in the Paddington area (attached). I presume this letter was sent to everyone who has bought a season ticket through their website recently, even if the ticket has no validity on FGW services, as I've never held a...
Whether a TVM accepts only some payment methods should be classed as an opportunity to buy is regularly hotly debated here and not well documented. I'm at work so can't find any previous threads that are open, so started a new one (sorry mods).
I recently found this snippet at the bottom of...
NRE says
Is the first bullet point actually true? My understanding was that it is not enough for the just the origin station to be within the area - ie I can't buy a Gold card from York ticket office.
This question is has been bugging me since I started thinking about it this morning.
How many National Rail or London Underground stations always have a train of some description on one of their normal service platforms, 24 hours a day? Which stations are they?
(It doesn't have to be the same...
