Weird itinerary on EastCoast.co.uk

I've just searched on EastCoast.co.uk for:
One way
From: London Terminals
To: Stalybridge
Via: Huddersfield
April 18
Depart after 07 00
1 Adults
16-25 Railcard 1

and got an itinerary in the screenshot below. Can anyone explain why it wants me to take the tube from Kings Cross to Finsbury Park and why an LU train would terminate here? This seems like a bonkers itinerary.

Yep, that would the engineering work. Even Hull Trains are starting/terminating at Finsbury Park

You might want to consider going from Euston and changing at Manchester. I know that Virgin have an amended timetable but trains should be running tomorrow.

and why an LU train would terminate here?

This bit seems like a bug. As far as I can see, all pic/vic northbound trains tomorrow (Good Friday) terminate at their usual terminae, and there is any event no facility to turn either back at Finsbury Park.

I could however imagine that pic trains are programmed in as kgx to fpk and that vic line trains be programmed as kgx hhy fpk seven sisters etc etc

I've decided to go with Virgin. I originally searched for via Huddersfield as WebTIS was insisting I take a Virgin train that had no cycle reservations left.

However, specifying via Salford Crescent means more time is required in the Manchester area, so it puts me on an earlier Virgin service that does have free cycle reservations.

How interesting - there are lots of special trains with an "Unknown Operator" specially hacked into the timetable database from King's Cross Underground to Finsbury Park tomorrow: http://www.brtimes.com/#!board?stn=ZKX&date=20140418

I remember the last time East Coast mainline trains were starting/terminating at Finsbury Park and we discussed on here how journey planners were not putting as many people onto them as they should. This special "King's Cross Underground" station with a minimum connection time of 1 minute must be a response to that.
