We all have a line we would love to have seen preserved. What would yours have been and if we could have save 1 engine to run on it what would it have been?
My chose would have been the Kidlington to Woodstock line and engine of cause the 0-4-2t 517 class 'Fair Rosamont'.
:D
From a Guards point of view I have always liked 158's. For what they were built for they were perfect.
From a personal point of view they always look like a proper train and I have never seen them in a livery that doesn't look good on them.
Central livery was the best though.
:D
Update on the 172 so far.
172331 Tyseley in use for driver training. To return to Derby soon for final fitting out.

:D
The test diagrams for the 172's leave Tyseley each hour and Stratford each Hour about on the hour. The one from tyseley follows the XX.47 ex Snow Hill.
I have know details other than it is leaving Derby about 09.00 and due to stand at East Midland parkway for 8 minutes on it first trip. Problem with not having access to Trust :-(
Due to run as a 3 car on 15/06 and believe as a 2 car on 16/06.
172333 has arrived on tyseley with full seating and branding with mileage accumilation and fault free running due to start tomorrow.
Next 2 due in about a week.

172333 started its first day of fault free running today.
last centre car for last...
The is a requirement for a Guard on the train North Of Banbury so with no guards trained up for the traction then DOO trips only.
Thinks could change with so training but with only 4 and more Class 67 it is unlikely.
The will be more 2 and 3 car sets. Although a DMOS-MOS(L)-MOS-DMOS(L) is a nice idea and the design speak allows for 4 car sets i woud assume a MOS with a Toilet to give 2 would be the call of the day although as all of the platforms on the Snow Hill Lines are being extended to 6 cars where ever...
