    Oyster touch not registering

On two recent occasions I have used my Oyster to open (and walk through) barriers at tube stations, but finding subsequently that the touch had not registered. I was only charged a maximum fare on those occasions so no major harm done but how can it be that a touch in/out does not register?

"CSN Day Single" from Underground station

The other day I bought a CSN Day Single from an Underground station to a station in the NSE area. It was printed on Underground ticket stock and accepted by the guard on the National Rail train. It appears to be an off peak ticket. The TOC journey planners show a substantially more expensive...

    - Network Railcard holder has a zone 1 - 2 Travelcard on Oyster - Wants to travel extensively in zones 1 - 6 on a weekend day Am I right in thinking the best way is not to use the Oyster card at all and buy a Network Railcard-discounted Day Travelcard because, for capping purposes, the...

I tried to buy an odd period travelcard from an Overground ticket office and despite the TFL website saying these are available, the guy behind the counter was adamant that they are only available for 1 day, 7 days, 1 month or 1 year. I thought that any Overground ticket office could sell any...

London to Birmingham International via High Wycombe

The journey planners show that on this ticket I can travel from Marylebone to Moor Street, and then from New Street to Birmingham International. However the quickest journey would certainly be to change at Banbury. Going via Moor Street I foresee raised eyebrows/arguments with the Chiltern...

TOC online journey planners versus station journey planners

My understanding is that TOC online journey planners attempt to take account of the Routeing Guide, but the journey planners at station information desks simply show the fastest way of getting from A to B at a particular time. Can the latter (or similar) be accessed online? Thanks
