On a normal weekday using Oyster or contactless, for which 120 minutes is allowed as across 5 zones:
Touch in at South Kensington at 16:00
Touch out at Victoria at 16:15
Have snack at Victoria
Touch in at Victoria NR at 16:50 (there is a 40 minute OSI)
Change at Clapham Junction for train to...
09.55 Liverpool Street
10.07 Tottenham Hale
10.42 Stansted Airport
I want to travel on the above train on a weekday using a London to Audley End Off Peak Return, and making use of the Network discount.
Can I take the tube to Tottenham Hale and board the train there, even the ticket...
As far as I know it's still possible to use Elsenham or Audley End tickets when travelling between London and Stansted Airport.
However the airport station seems to be putting poorly trained staff on all the possible entry/exit points, who struggle with any ticket that doesn't say Stansted...
I always try to get the right ticket, so for an intended journey from Frankfurt airport to Mainz, I had done prior research and found the price should be 4,65 for one adult. After arriving by air, I bought a ticket from the ticket machine as follows:
von: Frankfurt(M)Flughafen
nach: 5000...
Walking between Blackfriars Underground and the South Bank across the railway bridge certainly is possible without penalty using Oyster PAYG or a contactless card (providing you touch at all the gatelines even if the gates are open).
However the staff there seem to discourage this shortcut...
For a journey as follows:
- Euston to Preston (this Friday evening)
- Preston to Sheffield (Saturday afternoon)
- Sheffield to London, ideally via Doncaster (Sunday evening)
Please can anyone suggest a suitable ticket? London to Preston Off Peak Return is £87.70 but I doubt whether the...
Thetrainline shows that the first possible train for the ticket below on weekdays is at 09:40. Please could you check if my understanding below is correct:
The Gatwick to St Pancras leg can be started as early as I want, with no difficulties with barriers/barrier staff
Gatwick ticket...
For quite a few hours, this stopped passengers travelling between London and Southampton as well as those going through New Milton.
It seems pretty clear that South West Trains aren't going to pay any compensation for delayed journeys here. What about those travelling via Reading on (less...
In the Lille ticket machines, a weekend walk-up undiscounted TGV ticket to Bruxelles is 30.
On the sncf website, it's 19 for a ticket which seems to have no restrictions other than weekend only.
Does this seem correct or have I missed something?
Possibly inspired by the Easyjet 18.50 booking fee, I found out that staff at Belgian stations quietly charge a 7.00 or 3.50 booking fee for selling tickets to neighbouring countries.
This seems unfair as not everyone has a laptop and printer in their bag to be able to visit sncb.be...
I'd like to travel as follows:
- from London to Southampton on Friday (evening peak)
- from Southampton to Bournemouth on Sat
- from Bournemouth to London on Sun
I'd like to use the Off Peak Return at £37.90 with Network Railcard.
Am I likely to experience difficulties on the Saturday...
Hi,
I booked an Anytime Return online, without reservations, and tried to collect from a TVM. It only issued the Collection Receipt and the outward portion. I put my hand in to feel around for the return portion.
The staff at the station either didn't have the keys or didn't want to get...
Over the Easter weekend I would like to travel on a walk-up ticket from
London to Southampton
(going from Southampton to Bristol by car)
Bristol to London
Is this possible on an Off Peak Return to somewhere? Have Network Railcard.
If not, for London to Southampton is there still...
Super Off Peak Singles for £12.50 from Euston to Birmingham until Sunday.
I believe I have seen this offer on posters and on the Virgin website, however the ticket office had not heard of it and couldn't offer the fare. Does anyone know anything about it?! Thanks
I think the frequency of trains has reduced by half because of the strike, would you expect this to mean only people with reservations are allowed to board the train at Cardiff in the afternoon / evening?
If not is it likely to be standing room only and will they be doing a first class...
I would like to use the "any Dutch station" ticket and continue to Cologne with the minimum of waiting around stations, on this route:
I think the Heerlen to Aachen train is DB - if so is my Dutch Flyer ticket valid as far as Eygelshoven Markt?
Any ideas on how will I buy a ticket for the...
Hi,
I bought an Off Peak Return with an e-voucher. On the day of the outward journey, there was severe disruption, my intended train was cancelled so I travelled by NatEx coach instead. The coach was relatively quick and I was less than an hour late upon arrival.
- Do I claim under Delay Repay...
Hi,
I am thinking of catching this service but don't want to commit.
I note that:
The East Coast trains seem slower on Sun morning than normal
There are no Midland Mainline services from St Pancras
Advance ticket availability still seems OK on the 0845
Is there any chance that...
Hi,
If I want the 3 hour flexibility on an Advance from Manchester Airport, am I obliged to buy from TPE or can I buy the same ticket from a different TOC (at a station or online)??
Many thanks
The SchoenerTagTicket at 28.50 is supposed to include all buses and trains in North Rhine-Westphalia. Does anyone know if it includes the Muenster airport bus (from Muenster Hbf)?
Thanks
