Going from EXD to Paddington direct with a railcard the cheapest option at £24.40 or are their split tickets available?

So is a Advance Off-Peak with a railcard to London terminus, ex. St Panc = £12.80 *roughly. (From the Kent coast) If I bought a return suppliment £2.90 with railcard - my question is, is it legal. And if not, what are my ticketing rights? No mention on the SET website.

Will a Vomiter or Mark 3 be used on the 18:12 from New Street on Monday. It so bloody specific, who knows! Am I right in thinking it will probabily be a Vomiter? And usually on XC's track record for overcrowded trains in the past from my experience, if I don't get to sit in my reserved seat...

TPE and Northern cover the Preston to Chorley route. TPE does not stop at Leyland and goes to Chorley direct, but Northern do. With an off-peak ticket, can I break my journey at Leyland and rejoin shortly thereafter?
