Planning to arrive at Birmingham New St then via LM to Stratford upon Avon. With all the work going on at New St, when walking, is either Snow Hill or Moor St a better connection?
Just discovered that it is possible to buy a through ticket which includes a bus transfer from Kings Lynn to Hunstanton. Apart from Plusbus are there many other similar connections on the network?

I think I have answered my own question by putting...
Is it known when all is finished, if Great Northern fast and semi-fast to trains to Cambridge & Kings Lynn are planned to leave from platforms 0-8 and cut out the uncertainty that 9-11 may be used, as is the case today.
Sometimes when travelling as a group on a long journey. it is difficult to reserve seats together, especially if for a part of the journey a single traveller on a short journey blocks a potential reservation. Could it or should it be possible to identify any existing reservation in advance and...
A train is defined as a series of connected rail vehicles, so is a single ralicar like a class 153 Super Sprinter, for example, operating on its own, really a train?
Looking at a Super Off Peak Single, but would like to break journey at Didcot and Swindon, same day. T&Cs state:
Break of journey:
A break of journey is allowed unless otherwise indicated by a restriction shown against the ticket's Restriction Code
How do I find out the ticket's...
Just back from XC Birmingham to Cambridge. At Birmingham 3 of the 9 first class seats were occupied by rail staff, LM I think; they got off at Nuneaton. A XC staff member came and went at some point too.
I have no problem with this but wondered if there was any policy/guidance on this. I can...
Due to travel Cambridge to Liverpool St Sat 5th and back Sun 6th, considering taking advantage of advance tickets. Is there any way of knowing which services will be using 379 Electrostars?
The last Monday to Friday train from Ipswich terminates at Bury St Edmunds and starts back from there the following morning. What is the advantage to the railway of stopping there when the last ones in the other direction do run to Ipswich?
Today at 11am on Radio 4. 24 hours in the life of Newcastle upon Tyne railway station (condensed to 30 mins!) may be of interest to some on IPlayer Radio.

Fare from Cambridge or Waterbeach to Kings Cross appears to be the same. If I have bought a return from Cambridge to KGX, can I return to Waterbeach. If not what penalty could be levied if discovered?
Thinking of an ALR trip next year, when I qualify for a Senior Railcard. Early stages of planning but will include sleepers.
Mundane question to those who have done a trip-how successful have you been in packing for a week away from home. I will want to spend time in towns I want to visit but...
Travelling Cambridge to Shanklin on a bank holiday Saturday. Although longer, would Victoria to Portsmouth Harbour be less busy than from Waterloo?
Also, with through ticket, is it just turn up and go on ferry to Ryde, difficult to assess from websites which are mostly geared up for car...
Travelling soon on an ITX ticket, I know what ITX means, but shows type LOW, what does that mean?

Whoops! Answering my own question. Now read T&Cs, (usually a good idea)can't be used Fridays or other peak days.
Lives in a Landscape: The Longest commute in Britain, was broadcast yesterday, still available in Radio I-Player. Gives a view of the Highland Sleeper from regular users. Might be worth a listen.
Looking to travel as a group of 4, Bedford to Leicester and return on Sunday 4 November. EMT appear to offer Groupsave, but not for this journey, is there something I am missing?
Just back from Ireland. For a change came back Rosslare to Fishguard. Onward journey was by pacer, seemed totally inappropriate for the purpose with so much luggage to convey. Is this normal for this service?
