As per the title does anyone know what going on with the pay offer this year for TOCS? Are they deciding on a national mandate with DFT putting out details or is it being locally decided ?

There has already been an offer and referendum out via the RMT for the TOC I work at. So looks like it's being done TOC by TOC, but presumably the headline % will be the same.

It’s being done locally, as per the agreement reached during the national dispute some time back…

West Mids 3.4 back dated to April 1st for drivers. A couple of minor productivity although nothing that actually changes working practices. Accepted by Aslef

Conductors still in discussion. But apparently 2.8 or with self financing productivity 3.4. Still in talks with no idea what the productivity is.

I expect conductors to be in dispute unless a new offer is offered!

Interesting that since March RPI has ticked up by around 1.3% and CPI around 1%. A 3% pay rise now looks distinctively unattractive.

Agreed but with no strings attached and not far off closing that gap. Its worth it imo, but i guess it depends on the TOC.

Likewise. They need to come clean on the productivity as well. To be honest with GBR on the horizon im surprised they are looking to do any changes

Based on Jan or Feb figures

I know that, but it sucks a bit when suddenly in April the figures shoot up.
If inflation had fallen in April, would you be happy with a lower pay rise? You can't just pick and choose whichever month happens to be highest.

No, but it doesn't change the fact it still sucks, especially given no other public sector got an offer as low as 2.8% or 3% if I remember correctly.

Has this now been paid and salaries uplifted? I'm due to start soon so wondering if the salary on my contract (June) is pre or post payrise.

3.4% at Northern. No strings
There are strings albeit very minor and but I believe it involves safety briefs being delivered remotely.

More than likely the DFT, RDG or whoever is pulling the strings told the puppets in management at Northern they could offer RPI but they had to get some sort of productivity deal out of it. So management came up with something they knew wouldn't be turned down. The deal has been accepted by ASLEF without a ballot.

On the west those safety briefs won't be delivered remotely.

No, the briefs will still be in person on East and West.
The only change is managers can observe either on person or remotely.

Where’s this info from, had to check my letter. This isn’t what EMR drivers got For this year or next. And think guards still negotiating
Should have said RMT general grades - ASLEF deal was different, higher percentage for more changes.

It isn't quite over the line but more or less agreed for general grades. Changes are a longer notice period for some grades and an agreement to restrict applications for promotion until 18 months in post to try and help retention of staff in some areas (too many people doing their training to become station staff and clearing off immediately to become guards or drivers, or indeed guards to become drivers).

Just to point out that EMR drivers have a January pay anniversary, which is different to other grades at the company which have their pay anniversary in April. So inflation will be a different figure.

Most other TOCs Drivers are April, although I believe a couple are in May, and Southern, Gatwick Express, Great Northern and Thameslink are all in October.

For drivers, the ones I know of that have been agreed are:

EMR*
LNER
Northern
Greater Anglia
C2C
TPE
Elizabeth Line
West Midlands Trains

*As alluded to in posts above, EMR drivers have a two year deal for 2025 and 2026.
