TOCS Pay Offer 2025/26

Just showing what each TOC / FOC pays is very simplistic. We all know what other companies pay and its easy to ask colleagues so there is little point in Aslef really publishing it.

Terms and Conditions can make up quite significant shortfalls in pay. A FOC with a money purchased pension scheme vs a TOC with a Defined Benefit when you look at monthly contributions vs benefit would startle many.

Do you have this pension information to hand? If so, to startle those who don’t know this, as you say, perhaps you can post this so we can see the difference. It sounds like this would be very helpful to some.

Google it is the easiest bearing in mind i believe the TOC pensions are underwritten by HM Government and certanly will be with a tupe agreement once nationalised.

WMT driver have.
WMT guards have not.

Offer received but contains umbrella statements like 'agree to digital charter' with no detail. Guards have asked for same % for same terms as offered to drivers, has been rebuked twice by the company as not of sufficient value.

Yes, everyone gets the increase as trainee wages are a % of the full wage, so will increase above the advertised role from prior to the pay increase

'Minimal' depends of whether any of them effect you.

My depot has classed it as 'many strings' attached! Not necessarily enough to break a deal, but it's a poor offer nonetheless

In all honesty, the last few deals, notably the RDW one, have been poor, for various sub-grades and depots, yet they've been recommended as 'the best available'. Whatever is put on the table, grabbers are going to accept it, as all they see is the bottom line.

Sorry mate I don’t. Took early retirement in July. Waited for the Labour Party to get into power, my birthday and 40th year in the pension and of course this years pay deal. Haven’t got any idea of the small print involved.

ScotRail on second year of two year deal, 3% or January 2026 RPI, whichever is greater. No changes to conditions or strings attached.

Southern Railway (part of GTR) are offering 3.4%, the string attached primarily is doubling the notice period from 4 to 8 weeks.

I've declined it, and most of my depot have done the same.

That's not the worst string attached ever, most of the railway runs on 12 weeks notice.

There should be no strings attached on a minimum RPI linked pay offer, sorry!

Station teams are not happy with the offer either, but they have an extra string attached. Results will be interesting.

I agree there shouldn't, but unfortunately it's increasingly obvious the DFT want productivity gains with all future pay rises and I just don't think the appetite exists on the ground for industrial action in relation to inflationary pay talks.

I think if the offer had been higher we would have accepted the string. But as it is looks like we are declining
