    Dubious TrainPal adverts

Typically a 1-2% blanket discount which is funded by the retailer. At least that's all I ever get when trying these codes in their app.

    New clock unveiled

The native clock app's widgets use features only made available to applications developed directly by Apple to function. Third party apps which attempt to use this feature, and other features across iOS, are regularly rejected from the App Store or taken down when discovered. The alternative...

    New clock unveiled

Neither iOS nor Android support widgets that update as frequently as would be required for a clock. Apple Watches (watchOS) don't support custom watch faces at all. The Android smartwatch equivalent (WearOS) does, and that has been the only thing announced as under development.

    Unusual multiple unit couplings

These are now common around Brighton, to take services into Lovers Walk. Just the first 5 examples I found from trawling through the new open data feed we have for train consists: https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/service/gb-nr:Y33854/2025-10-18/detailed...

    Dubious TrainPal adverts

I wouldn't describe it as AI, but someone using text to speech software, combining it with random clips of trains, and publishing the resultant "slop" en masse. And taking stock images for the profile pictures, of course. Other videos published by similar accounts showcase a real person, which...

Guards: what do you make of staff "getting a lift" on your train?

Lots of people have to commute to work. How is it different? Do you not get PRIV seasons?

It's on my list -- current version (with optional date below the HH:mm) is in review with Google at the moment for WearOS. :)

Counted place allocation on Greater Anglia with Off Peak Day Return

We have an internal ticket raised from a while ago to discard reservations on flexible tickets if all the reservations we got back were counted place ones, which would alleviate this issue. As I understand, it would be harder to keep some reservations while discarding the counted place...

My thoughts on protection whilst using a combination of tickets

I don't think this conversation is worth a repeat, after the points raised here have already been raised before and clearly debunked in a previous thread. To reiterate the same point as before, however:

Are Gatwick Express discounted tickets only valid on GatEx?

It wouldn't say Any Permitted if it was restricted by operator.

Of course it was, and Tom knows it was too.

Guards: what do you make of staff "getting a lift" on your train?

Some might say that railway staff are just as bound by legal requirements to buy a ticket before boarding, where facilities are available, as normal passengers.

Are Gatwick Express discounted tickets only valid on GatEx?

The site shows the discounted tickets as being Any Permitted.

Thanks for you and your team's hard work on this. I do have one pretty big concern I'd like to raise though, if you don't mind. I noticed you said 6 months of history should hopefully be live by the end of the month, but I think you've overshot this by about 1000 days or so? Will you be...

    New clock unveiled

The Network Rail press release states it's every 12 hours! Noone can make their mind up seemingly. 1760647938 The full double arrows spins around the clock face taking a whole minute.

I plan to emulate it for Wear OS smartwatches, just for the sake of beating a bunch of consultants to their own game... :D

    New clock unveiled

For those who are interested, I've put together a demo of the clock available to view on modern* web browsers: https://railclock.davwheat.dev/ * Uses some features older, out-of-support, browsers will not support, so might not show correctly for some.

When will Seatfrog remove booking fees and allow railcards?

It basically already does what you describe, with the bid and fee shown before you change your bid, and showing the fee at the top of the bid entry screen.
