Even more than that, from what I saw!

LNER - last minute reservations on MK4 sets

You cannot prove a negative. ;) I have seen Azumas refresh reservations enroute, and even seen them update live as we're on approach to a station. Obviously nothing can work perfectly 100% of the time. Upstream systems may encounter issues, the train system may encounter issues, mobile signal...

    Delay repay on both legs

Indeed. For the vast majority of passengers (using barcode tickets), systems exist to record delay repay issuance to prevent illegitimate double-claims. If TOCs cared, they could easily include the repaid amount in the messages too. When I've claimed from the same TOC with the same ticket...

And harvesting as much data to resell to their commercial partners, I expect! :p

LNER - last minute reservations on MK4 sets

The solution to this is charging for reservations, and refunding if you cancel the reservation at least N hours before scheduled departure. But of course that isn't how the rail industry works here, and such a proposal would get discussed to death in Speculative Discussion.

    Split ticket query

Out of interest, would station TISes be able to reprint just the seat reservations from the collection reference, for example? Or would you just print it on A4 like an itinerary might be?

1st class for only certain legs

The forum's site will issue standard class tickets as part of splits if the trains you're on don't have first class, but you're right that there's no way to control this on a per-leg level if the trains do have first but it's not worth the extra cost. I would love to have the option to "avoid...

    Avanti first class catering changes

Am I the only other person that would love some potato tots with my breakfast sandwich??

    Avanti first class catering changes

The bacon and sausage sandwiches are still properly made rather than reheated, but it might be the case that the fillings are cooked before departure and loaded into warm store. I've never had a complaint with the Avanti sausage sandwich, though (but if they have switched across the board to...

TransPennine App charged me twice and didn't give me the ticket

Hear hear! Though I will say, we are not immune to such issues either...! If something goes wrong at the point of trying to fulfil the tickets, you'll end up with a pending transaction that takes time drops off (like on TPE's site, for example). It's just the nature of the systems behind...

TransPennine App charged me twice and didn't give me the ticket

A lot of the time, things like this are temporary authorisation holds and will drop off your card after a day or two as the funds haven't been "captured" by the retailer. Some banks are quicker than this (Monzo is maximum a few hours a lot of the time, while other banks might take multiple...

Does Delay Repay apply when the delay is known about already at ticket purchase?

Meanwhile, I recall a thread where a smartcard season holder was denied their DR claim multiple times because they didn't touch in to the station before the scheduled service departure time...! Double standards galore, as to be expected in the industry :D

Does Delay Repay apply when the delay is known about already at ticket purchase?

Yes, in my view. The industry shouldn't penalise people who buy their tickets at the station prior to departure rather than hours or days in advance. The line is hazy, and I think it really depends on your individual circumstances. Claiming DR after you happen to get an earlier train that was...

    PlusBus Tickets

Gatwick, taking a northbound 420 bus from the South Terminal bus stops. You might get luck opening up the Google Wallet app to the home screen where it shows you your list of payment cards, and swiping from one payment card to another one, and then back to the main one you want to use after a...

    PlusBus Tickets

This risk was pretty well known about at the launch. Some people worked hard behind the scenes to prevent it becoming PlusBus mTickets...! The tougher problem in another sense is buying PlusBus and the refunding it as unused.

    Gatwick Airport station taxis

As I was passing through Gatwick, I took the opportunity to grab some pictures of the bus signage. I was headed northbound, or I would have taken some for the walk too!

    Explaining 6 months expiration?

I'm aware that almost all Chiltern cases are broadly on hold at the moment, due to issues raised across the industry regarding the use of lay prosecutors (effectively people without formal legal qualifications) to bring cases. It's very unlikely you will be prosecuted, but we have seen TOCs...

    Gatwick Airport station taxis

On these, typically commuter, routes I just tap my card on the Ticketer machine, and then tap off on the second reader mounted on the grab rails. Drivers expect people to be using TOTO or The Key on basically all services around Crawley. Yes, if you leave the railway station via the one of the...

    Gatwick Airport station taxis

Metrobus also do tap-on, tap-off as well with contactless cards, which might be easier for OP (@The Snap). Typically the drivers just tell you to tap on as opposed to wanting to actually sell you a ticket in my experience of commuting around Crawley for a few months. I will also say, the bus...
