    Blue Islands - ceases trading

When Aurigny have hired in an Airbus to operate their flights, they had to be careful it wasn’t full. Otherwise people got turfed off! Reading up on it, the runway needs extending to 1700m (from 1463) to enable full operation of A320 & 737 Classic aircraft (737NG cannot use the airport at all)

    Louisville UPS MD11 Crash

Indeed. Now the answer we need is why. The previous crash was due to the maintenance procedure, with aircraft manuals modified afterwards. Has maintenance caused an issue again or has this procedure crept back in? Or was this just age related fatigue? If it’s the latter, it may well spell the...

    2025 Models

Bachmann did/still do one. No interest in having one myself, so no idea if it was any good! Came out in 2011, so probably showing its age against the very latest offerings

    Russia invades Ukraine

But it’s not an incursion if they‘re in international waters/air space. This nonsense has been going on since the start of the Cold War.

The Labour Party under Andy Burnham

This is absolutely spot on. Just look at the comments on social media when a British born person who isn’t white commits a crime. Constant calls for them to be deported even though they are British citizens. Cases in point: the recent LNER stabbing, the grooming gangs etc

UK switching to electric vehicles discussion

Thats really not great for a 6 year old car IMO, especially having to change all the discs! But maybe I was lucky with my previous car Bought on 34,000 in 2012 until it died in 2023 on 216,000 Non-Routine costs (majority of work undertaken by myself, so saves on labour): EGR Valve (£120) Front...

UK switching to electric vehicles discussion

Probably because nothing has been confirmed yet. It’s also against EVs, which the right wing press will probably quite like! A pay per mile scheme is going to be needed in some form. Something needs to replace fuel duty (~£25 billion)

    2025 Models

Just had a search of the Hattons directory and you're correct, they did. Was in the 'updated' White & Grey livery though, not the original white/yellow one (Although not sure any networkers got painted in that livery anyway due to the warranty on the then-recent NSE paint)

    2025 Models

Now you mention it, there haven’t been many. The Graham Farish 319, Hornby VEP & Bachmann CEP (although there was only 1) have so far avoided Connex. Only RTR example I can think of is the Kernow Thumper. (Was the Hornby 466 ever released in Connex white & yellow? Think it was only NSE and...

    2025 Models

Yes, surprised they went with WAGN, seeing as FCC is absent this run. Doing my best to resist a Southern or NSE one. Hoping they will release the other PEPs in due course. I will definitely have a 508 in one of the South Eastern liveries, preferably Connex (ducks and runs for cover)

    Louisville UPS MD11 Crash

Only bits that are recognisable there are the core of the engine itself (photo 1 & 3) and the inlet cowl (photo 2 & 4) There is some other debris in the top photo, but it’s pretty mangled. The fan cowls and thrust reverser ducts will be somewhere.

McDonnell Douglas. This airframe was built before the merger

    Louisville UPS MD11 Crash

On AA191 it wasn’t just the engine that detached, the pylon came with it. Looking at the pictures from this incident, it’s only the bare engine itself left on the ground. Obviously, you can’t initially tell much from a mangled wreck, but I’d be hesitant to say this is a similar incident...

Revolution are doing the 321. Available in NSE & NXEA. The 360 is a possibility for Bachmann at some point as they do other members of the Desiro family. Although I’ll take a guess it’s possibly the 309 you’re after! I don’t live anywhere near the GEML, but I’d have one of those.

    Older cars you have seen

Saw a number of ‘turn of the century’ cars this morning (19th-20th Century). Living on the route of the London to Brighton Veteran Car Run probably helps! Edit - I see the above poster beat me to the ‘joke’!

Are right wing politicians to blame for racism being more open and prevalent?

Mainstream media also plays a part as well. Look at how much press coverage the Epping asylum seeker who assaulted those women got. Unfortunately, attacks like that are carried out all the time by people from all walks of life, but with the media only paying attention to this case, it makes it...

Living at home with your parents as an adult

I lived at home until i was 27. I was fortunate in that my parents didn’t need to charge me any rent, so was able to save for a decent deposit which is still massively helping me today (decent LTV ratio on mortgage, lower rate of interest) I have no intention of living with them again, but...

Revolution Trains Class 180 OO Gauge

Almost 5 years from announcement to arrival for the 104! KR Models are another one for lack of information. Last we heard (start of August), it was due in the UK in the middle of September. Heard nothing since.

    Football

Why doesn‘t Sam Allardyce‘ reign at Leeds at the end of the 2023 count? The BBC have been reporting that Ange had the shortest reign in Premier league history, but had Allardyce at the top of their ’graph’ for the shortest duration. (Since Noted that this has since disappeared!)
