The Green Party of England and Wales now under Zack Polanski

Glad I’m not the only one! Mostly seeing video's from his performance on Question Time. Nice to see someone standing up to Reform and calling them out for what they are.

Trivia : Railway questions you were afraid of asking

I’ve always pronounced it ‘go’ ‘vee’ ‘ah’ (via pronounced the same as Kia). But I suppose ‘go’ ‘vi’ ‘ah’ actually makes a bit more sense! I’ll await someone who actually knows!

Revolution Trains Class 180 OO Gauge

Probably worth keeping an eye on this thread on RMWeb https://www.rmweb.co.uk/forums/topic/170591-revolution-trains-announce-class-175-coradia-and-class-180-adelante-dmus-in-n-oo-gauge/page/18/ If it’s something you really want, it’s always best to pre-order as some popular models don’t make...

    Model Railways Marketplace Shrinking

Olivia's trains were expensive, much more so than Rails. Vast majority of their stock was RRP. They seemed to do very little in the way of discounts/sales as well, seeing as they were still trying to sell their exclusive EM1/2s at their original (or higher) prices. This was a model that came...

TUI flight BY762/3 Bristol-Cape Verde (SID) flight

More than likely a medical issue on board. Just a coincidence it’s happened 2 Saturdays on the bounce.

How could rail capacity to Gatwick Airport be increased?

You do see a fair few on the 5/6 island because of the access. But yes, for the 700’s from P4 you see very few people at the country end. It’s a shame that the remodel didn’t put an additional access at that end like 5/6/7 have.

Should we have a universal ID card?

Should we have a universal ID card?

Luckily for you, it won’t be required to be carried in public. It‘ll be required to be held to be able to work. https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/clyl3lzzed2o

How could rail capacity to Gatwick Airport be increased?

Gatwick has been remodelled since the days of 12 cars. There are now 3 places to access platforms 5/6, instead of 2 (of which one was very small & out of the way). People are now spread out along the platform a lot more.

How could rail capacity to Gatwick Airport be increased?

Is this still the case? I have noticed vast improvements in the length of time the barriers are down in recent years. When I was at college in the late 2000s, the barriers for WB trains did used to come down very early as you say. I don't use the train often now, but regularly drive over the...

    Airport expansions

The BBC has opened their article for comments. Some people seemed to have missed that vital point!

Red arrows and Hawk T1 Aircraft

I think it’s unlikely the T2 will join the Red Arrows. Personally, whatever replaces the T2 (which maybe isn’t too far away given its poor serviceability record) will also replace the T1s of the Reds. There are various rumours about what the next trainer will be. The Leonardo M346 seems to be...

    Reform UK discussion

They won’t. They’ll blame the ‘establishment‘ and say all the so called (in their eyes) ‘experts’ are all going to be wrong and are scaremongering. All whilst listening to some YouTuber saying that it’s all going to be milk & honey when reform get in. We saw the same with Brexit unfortunately.

The Labour Party under Andy Burnham

If you ask reform voters who was to blame for the austerity of the 2010s they'll more than likely say Labour. So I don't think that'll work somehow

    Hornby Railroad Grand Central HST

That's brilliant value. Ok, it's not the most up to date tooling, but they're still reasonable power cars and coaches. To put it into perspective, my GNER HST pack from the late 90's cost £80 brand new (£156 adjusted for inflation), and you only got 2 short coaches with that. I do have half an...

    Reform UK discussion

I doubt it to be honest. The amount of backlash from withdrawal of the winter fuel payment would be nothing compared to means testing the state pension.

    Reform UK discussion

Been listening to the radio this afternoon/evening and the top headline every hour is the guilty verdict for sexual assault given to the asylum seeker at the Essex hotel. If only the same amount of airtime was given to every sexual assault case in this country, it may open people eyes a bit.

    Older cars you have seen

Saw an 'M' reg Rover 400 estate this morning. Been a long time since I've seen one of those. Looked in very good nick and surprisingly wasn't being driven by an elderly gentleman!
