Realised I'd been doing Waterloo to St. Pancras wrong for years...

I was going to suggest Waterloo - Green Park (Jubilee) then Victoria Line to Kings Cross St Pancras. If I recall the walk from the Jubilee to Victoria line at Green Park is very very long? I think I used to use escalators to the concourse and then down to Victoria line, but this was years ago...

I know - so why is Scotrail showing Inverness - Aberdeen trains when I asked for Inverness - Stromness?

ScotRail - New app / website booking engine from 30 July 2026

I was going to reply to another thread about not being able to buy Rail and Sail to Orkney. I tried the ScotRail where Stromness is listed... But oh dear... Inverness Stromness results are actually Inverness Aberdeen trains. 1785522287 In fact this is happening on other sites, at least...

I could be wrong but I could not seem to search for earlier or later on the initial results page. Even typing in WCK gives Warwick as the first answer

ScotRail - New app / website booking engine from 30 July 2026

To be fair, I've had that issue with most apps. Berwick, Wickford, Adwick etc often come up first.

    Weymouth - Waterloo

I received a notification that my train from Dorchester South is now departing 5 minutes earlier, with arrival at Waterloo unchanged. It turns out that from Monday 3rd to Friday 7th August departures are retimed in each direction. I can't see any reason for this, there are no engineering...

    Skywards Rail : Avoid

Emirates airlines has launched a rail booking portal, ostensibly to let members use points to pay. But they also sell tickets that earn points. It is an absolute car crash. Trains are listed as an hour later than the true departure (I tried Euston to Inverness, Georgemas Junction* to Inverness...

The Citylink site isn't selling X99 tickets (Inverness - Wick) after 31st July. Stagecoach website is selling though. Just a bug?

    Refund of first class premium

I mean on the London Weymouth line the different between First and Standard is almost imperceptible, now they decided to go 2+2 seating in First. Although you do get comtactless charging At least from Exeter to Waterloo it is still 2+1 which makes a meaningful difference. EDIT: I realise this...

    Great Britain interurban bus map

This is great! One thing (everyones a critic!) the E18 (Inverness - Ullapool) appears to go via Dunbeath... I think it would be better if it was a diagonal line NW from Inverness. I do appreciate the difficulty of showing everything, and that the map is not strictly geographical. What software...

Belfast to Rosslare (hypothetical) missed connection questions

There is a confusing wording on the Citizens Information page in Ireland. Care and assistance If it seems likely that your train will be more than 60 minutes late, the train company must provide ‘care and assistance’ free of charge. This can include: Meals and refreshments (for example, teas...
