Bus operators that do not use Ticketer machines.

Beaminster Town Council operates the CB3 - used to be multiple journeys between Beaminster and Bridport on Saturdays, now two buses a day (as the CR6 now runs on Saturdays). Anyway, they still have hand written tickets and a clippie! :D

Borders Railway - 10 years on

Funny how government money spent on roads is always "investment", but on railways it's "subsidy"

I have a friend who needs to travel urgently as their father is seriously ill, but doesn't get paid till next week I remember years ago this happened to another friend and was able to get a ticket with a promise to pay form, but as I was suggesting this I couldn't find any evidence for it Did...

Should the London Underground have first class?

The only line I think it would work on is the Metropolitan Line. But it's not something I favour.

What is the closest you've come to meeting your maker?

Years and years ago I was under anaesthetic for a tooth procedure, and years later for an appendectomy. On both occasions I had an epileptic seizure while under. Another time I had an asthma attack and I remember a needle being stuck into my chest. This was over 20 years ago, thankfully I am...

    Network SouthEast 40 Year Anniversary

I remember being surprised (and glad, due to Network Railcard and Gold Card) that NSE services included Waterloo to Exeter and Weymouth, and Paddington to Worcester! Waterloo - Weymouth definitely felt like InterCity back in the day.

Are Paper Bus Timetables still in your area?

For the first time in two years, First Wessex will be producing a timetable for their services in West Dorset. No hurry though, the timetables changed on 23rd May. Currently a local man pays a printer to have a timetable for X51/X52/X53 and now LB1 printed. Ironically this is more accurate...

Free bus travel to airports with boarding pass

The nearest equialent I can recall was the free travel area around Heathrow - this is now just free travel between terminals. And when Prestwick Airport re-opened to passengers they offered free rail travel on production of a boarding pass to anywhere in Scotland. This was then reduced to 50%...

Misleading NatEx advert at Stansted airport

My problem is that some companies will chance it over and over, after all the removal notice only happens after its reported, so lots of people will have been misled. Ryanair were experts at this.

    Senior Bus Passes

Translink doesn't seem to say what happens if your card is rejected, but do offer a temporary solution for damaged passes.
