Sniffing.
Not small occassional sniffs, but loud throaty ones that seem to roll snot around the sniffers throat. Generally repeated every 30 seconds or so regardless of the length of journey.
There are some ill people out there. Please buy some tissues or a handkerchief.
Or stay at...
I'm not so sure. My mate works for one of the main clearing banks. His bank won a "prestigous" mortgage award from a financial magazine and he got to attend the dinner when they were announced. He told me that they were well aware that they would get an award of some sort, as they had been...
Really good to see Blackfriars open again, the new development looks impressive. But is it me or is there a distinct lack of signage on the new building?
Aside from the modest blue "Blackfriars Station" wording directly above the entrance (see attached pic), there seems to be just a...
A while back I encountered a sausage roll eating youth with his mucky feet up on the seat opposite him. Dont know what came over me but as I passed down the train I felt the urge to give his boots a quick thwack with the Evening Standard. Understandably I didnt stop to chat but I heard...
Branson's possibly correct. But he also described four engines (as adopted by Virgin Atlantic of course) for long haul flights as being way safer than twin engined jets, adorning his aircraft with the corny slogan "4 Engines 4 Longhaul". Before boldly ordering a fleet of twin engined 787s...
Unless of course he was spoken to about his "behaviour" and agreed to leave peacfully which is completely normal. Even from watching TV fly-on-the-walls about airports, it's clear many people are asked to leave every day.
By following your logic, anyone that the police ever need to speak...
I'm no expert, but even I can see that two pounds of cocaine does rather suggest an entry into "dealing" territory, whereas possession of a small quantity for personal use would be viewed altogether differently!
I've only made one return trip (Euston - Chester) on a Virgin SuperVoyager. But thanks to the wisdom imparted on this forum I headed straight for Coach D. My eternal thanks to you all! :D
As ever though, nothing in life is quite that clear cut. From my station, most folk like the 2+2 seating of the 375/3/6/7/8 as it's reasonably comfortable. But in the peak, people actively look out for the 375/9s (not that they know the type, just that it's 3+2!) because of the extra seats...
I suppose next best is to ensure the fare dodger gets maximum inconvenience. So kicking them off is a good compromise, albeit not half as good as a penalty fare/prosecution.
Hmmm.
Articles like this are sensationalist by nature, no matter what the truth is. And I always wonder who would allow the Metro to photograph them posing to support their "hard done by" story.
Naive? Publicity seeking? Who knows, but you end up looking a prat either way as...
And done on the cheap too. You can still see the different flooring where the hot buffet stood in what is now security! And the former security area was a barren emptiness other than some random seating dumped in it last time I was there.
A few pounds spent on the conversion work would have...
At least we have our memories! :)
Many a commute having sneaked out early to get the 17.02 from Waterloo, which ran for 30 minutes non-stop (not even Clapham Junction) to my home station. A compartment to oneself to travel all the way home in splendid isolation was quite frankly magnificent...
I used to fly from LGW to MAN about twice a week for five years on BA, sometimes from LHR.
Of course everything changes, but my heart sinks on the odd occassions I do so now. Understandably the BA business lounge was (physically) divided in two as capacity is no longer needed but I do think...
