Monday afternoon saw the 16.57 Charing Cross to Folkestone service formed of a 465/2 and a 466. It seemed odd to use inner suburban stock on such a route, albeit it must have made for a nice day out for the units! Does anyone know if this is a regular occurrence?

If it's an air freshener it certainly isn't working on SE 465s!! :cry:

Not sure it's a speaker - the (usually muffled) announcements come from up in the ceiling, presumably tucked somewhere in the light fittings. I'll confess to also wondering what it is! :|

I was on a 465/9 (I think it was 909) today that has had a new "circular" accessible toilet installed, similar to those on the 375s, plus a slightly changed seating arrangement to accommodate the new cubicle. There were also some other limited changes such as vinyl flashes on the internal...

Don't forget the big problem that has yet to be addressed. Will the combined engineering might of Bombardier and Southeastern be able to cure the "screeching" sound made by seatback tables being folded on the 375/9s? Ten years on and we are still waiting............!

For what it's worth I will echo some of the earlier comments. I use mainly 375s and 465s for my daily commute, with the occasional 319 home dependant on where my work ends up taking me in London. I will quite miss the 319s when they have departed as they are good reliable stock. OK, they...

Of course no-one needs my approval to use public transport, just a valid ticket, and I've never said otherwise. I've purely pointed out that some folk smell after physical exercise. Perhaps I may have hit a nerve..............?

One must also take into account the great unspoken truth. Some cyclists (note, some) stink of sweat before they board due to their bike journey. It can be rather unpleasant being near them. I know I'll be shot down, but I only speak as I find.

There are indeed many lasting benefits. A good number of tube and mainline stations still retain tatty pink stickers and signage which have not been properly removed. I confidently predict that if you revisit these sites many years from now they will still be in place. :lol:

Call it what you like, sadly some folk dont seem to take any notice. Unfortunately it seems that if any particular rule doesnt suit certain people, they feel free to simply ignore it. Purely a lack of common courtesy.

Agreed - I was there and my journey to London Bridge was pretty OK even though there was a bit more crowding due to the Central Line being down. The picture is of a "pinch point" where the crowds need to move through a narrower area to get to the station, so it's not surprising it looks...

I've seen a few people attempting the "dark art" of riding a bike directly into a docking station. Not brave/skilled enough myself.........yet.

Do you find many are damaged? Most that I've hired have been in very good nick, but even so it's best to check the rear wheel spins properly (ie no pronounced "wobble") before you undock. I had one journey which was a little more exciting than I was anticipating as a result of not checking...
