I deal with complaints at work and if the letter is well structured, makes sense AND gets to the point quickly - they are the ones who get dealt with in a more positive way.
(I work for a Gov Dept that generates LOTS of complaints).

I`m lucky that my annual season ticket with Merseyrail is due for renewal on 4th September 2012.
The increase for my new ticket is 5.2% (£1152 this year £1092.00 last year), which I`m happy with as I dont drive and need public transport to get to work etc.
A 59 year old colour blind car driver was today convicted of driving onto a level crossing and colliding with a FGW train after he mistook red flashing signals as amber signals.
He was fined £1500.00 with £775.00 court costs...
Could it be because Meols Cop is on the Southport -Mcr route and served by a different train company (Northern Rail (I think)) to Merseyrail ?.
Because Southport to Bidston is all on Merseyrail.
I commute from Southport to Moorfields, on Merseyrail 4 days a week.
Every morning I have to play the game of "which platform will the train leave ?", there are only 3 platforms (1,2 or 3) and I look on the board and it says , for example, 3 so I go to Platform 3 only to be told it isnt...

My current paper Merseyrail ticket is of their own design with my picture on it.
People with travelcards with the chip in it (Senior Citizen and Disabled) place them on the card reader and the gates open.
