Any idea why 70 0015 was at Southport Station this morning with a line of freight wagons ? (It was about 5.45 am as I was boarding the 5.53 to Hunts Cross).

Thanks in advance !

Because the line of freight wagons needed to be moved from one place to another via Southport and 70 015 was a suitable locomotive to carry out this operation?

It's actually an engineers train, the line between Southport and Wigan has been blocked every night this week.

Thank you gentlemen for your answers !.

I was asking as it is so unusual to see anything different from 507/508`s and those bus on tracks @ Southport.
