A shame the Halton Curve has still not been reinstated. It could have offered a diversionary route via Chester.

Another good spot can be Runcorn station (not Runcorn East which is the next stop up from Frodsham) where there is plenty of freight. Of course, with the Halton Curve still shut in all but name, you can't travel direct to Runcorn station by train from Frodsham station.

Always a good read this North Wales website. I'd personally like to see the ticket office and waiting room at Frodsham being reopened. It is a nice building.
