I hope someone can advise please?
I'm off to London on Apr 6th and back Apr 7th. I normally travel to Euston from Runcorn but it appears that there is a bus replacement from Crewe to Runcorn on 7th Apr so I'm travelling from Chester instead as I'm not a fan of bus replacements.
Now, I'm...
Another good spot can be Runcorn station (not Runcorn East which is the next stop up from Frodsham) where there is plenty of freight. Of course, with the Halton Curve still shut in all but name, you can't travel direct to Runcorn station by train from Frodsham station.
Living in this area I somewhat puzzled by the number of accidents on this perfectly straight piece of road! One good reason to travel by train to work.:D Those ATW 175's are very comfortable on a commute.
It was busier than normal. I was on the ATW 1719 Picc to Chester service which was 5 min late arriving at P14 due to a late running Lime St service. We were held outside of Oxford Road for a further 8 mins and the explanation we received from our train guard was that another Toc was "swapping...
No mention of the good old Halton Curve? The line that would lead the good people of Wales directly into any cruise terminal, airport link etc that Liverpool may offer?

Perhaps these rather large schemes may help merit a line. Plus the fact Liverpool is trying to get cruise liner destination status?
Always a good read this North Wales website. I'd personally like to see the ticket office and waiting room at Frodsham being reopened. It is a nice building.
Technology thinks it knows better than the author and decided to autocorrect my text. By the time I have uploaded the thread it was too late and the Mid Cheshire was being redesign acted!

From today's Chester Chronicle. The mid Cheshire line is to be designated as a "community line". Is this good news? I'm not sure what a "community line" is.
