    Helsby-ellesmere port line

If the price of petrol keeps rising then pressure will come to bear as trains as peak times keep on filling up. I remember a few years ago when I had to take a train in to Machester Picc in a morning for a while from Helsby. The thing was full before I even got on. I don't know if anything has...

I never knew about the coal tip. I drove past that spot last weekend on my way to Llangollen. I agree with you on the doubling.

Thanks Bob. I was under the impression that Shell objected due to the proximity of a gas plant to the line that no longer exists.

Now I remember in the early 80's travelling to Liverpool from Helsby via Rock Ferry. The service was well used. Due to electrification, this then changed to Hooton and of course now the Helsby to Ellesmere Port service is all but a Parliamentary one. I believe the reason that electrification...

Electrification after chat moss routes. etc.

Interesting that the 3MG consortium have been awarded £9m to improve rail services to the depot in Widnes. Could this offer hope to the redoubling on the Halton Curve? This document - http://www.merseyside.org.uk/dbimgs/SuperPort%20Study%20Exec(1).pdf - does seem to support additional rail...
