Anyone have any idea what's there and visible currently? Have lost track of what's been cleared out and arrived. Is it just completely stuffed with 456s?
The up loop at Hungerford has for about a week shown as 'SHUT' on OpenTrainTimes, last Friday a rake of hoppers with no loco was in there, very unusually. I don't know if they are still there. Does anyone know if anything odd has happened?
Understand that all bar the peak Bedwyns are going to be shuttles from Newbury from May. Reason given is (aside from 10% cost reduction from DfT) that trains need replacing in South West so the IETs used on Bedwyns are being shifted and we're back solely on 165s.
Most Bedwyns have been...
'631W' Robeston-Theale tankers stopped between Kintbury and Newbury for safety inspection around 0600. Fire and Police services in attendance at Kintbury although appears precautionary. Lines blocked. Seems to be a 1Z99 at Woodborough on the way. Tail light of tankers visible from Kintbury crossing.

Realise IET but just wondered why/odd route/odd alleged stops and wondered if anyone knew why?
Does the return trip later in day.
Hello,
Just wondered re this one, the National Rail app and GWR website show a route but no fare for this journey at certain times. If the route appears in the planner but no fare is available is it a valid route?
The 'no fares' show on a journey with a change at Reading and Guildford rather...
In the 1990s, a 91 occasionally popped up at an open day, (Bescot, Streatham Hill...), And wherever you were, there was often a 90 (Brighton)
Has anyone got any pictures or details of the positioning moves involved?
A 91 or a 90 through Clapham would be a lovely thing to see.
Prompted by mention of the 322481 delivery run from York to London mentioned in '30 years ago' in Rail Express this month, the same unit appeared the following day at the Crewe Works Open Day, with info on the record breaking run, from memory. Did it just head back up WCML under own power, does...
I have come across a 1974 timetable for the Huntingdon-St Neots-Sandy-London service.
One of the footnotes indicates that the 0710 Sandy-Kings Cross (seems to start Sandy) is temporarily diverted to Broad Street. This came as a surprise.
Anyone know the history/have a pic?
There is also one...
Hello, having seen the 91 and Mk4s and DVT at Streatham Hill (10/91) and noticing that a few other open days had a 91 as an exhibit (Bristol, Bescot) I was wondering does anyone have any details or pics of how they got there? Mk4s on Southern especially!
Does anyone know what the trucks/vans that are in the undergrowth East of Reading station in all the undergrowth north of GWML between there and Napier Road Tesco's are?
I thought it/they had gone a few years ago but it/they have resurfaced.
Will try and get a pic but that might not be for...
I have had a Kintbury-Reading season for 5 years. I now have to go to Twyford twice a week so idly looked at the season ticket calculator.
I have found that whilst Kintbury-Reading is £2216 which I currently pay, Kintbury-Twyford is £2168, despite Twyford being beyond Reading.
So, given that I...
Hello,
Always knew I took a pic of this, just found it! Quality or view not great admittedly but not seen another pic of this sort of thing.
No idea of date but likely 89/90 and probably a Saturday morning. All coupled up.
Stone train pulled (I think) by DBS 59/2 failed across the up points just West of Newbury around 4.30, no up trains since and no Bedwyns either way (train trapped Bedwyn). Fitter arrived about 6pm.
Open Train Times seem to have got a 1Z99 rescue train up behind it (?). Might still be sat there...
Spotted by family member...any ideas? Never seen anything like that round there!
"A dull/darkish blue train with an angled end on the A428 east of Caxton Gibbet, Cambs Tue 4 Dec around 1030 travelling west ... on a low loader"
Just been moved along out of carriage C due to exhaust fumes/smell in saloon. Carriage F has same issue. Train continues in service on 1706 Paddington-Frome.
Was burning oil/hot electric smell on entering carriage at Newbury.
