Believe freight has failed across the junction, a 1Z99 was showing (can't now see) and also freights queuing on Reading West curve and the 'new' curve from high number Reading platforms to Reading West. Currently stuck so wondered if anyone knew any more (and where the 1Z99 was scrambled from)

The usual NMT flying banana run headed West down the Newbury line about 75 late today, having headed into Reading Depot via the Kennet loop and platform 15. Never known this happen before, assume fuelling (?). I didn't spot how it escaped again. Not sure a HST has been in Reading Depot before...

At some point (I think between Tuesday 11th and Fri 14th April although could have been earlier) a container flat with container has been dumped in a siding at Theale. There aren't many container trains head this way so wondered the backstory to it being left there. Anyone have any info please?

Since Tue 28th March bay Platform 3 at Newbury has not been used and marked shut on Open Train Times, anyone know why? It has caused congestion given the available routes and only one train per platform with shuttles to Bedwyn, fast trains, limited stops and stoppers.

Is it relatively common to have no off peak single between two stations? It is cheaper to get an off peak return than the only single available (which is an anytime) and wondered if this was unusual/any reason for it. Hard to explain, which gate staff must do all the time.

038Y/WAGS is showing on RTT/Traksy on the inner line of the Reading triangle, between signals 1728/2805 on the line under the main line. Has anything odd happened or is it just a quirk in the feeds? I'm next past it Friday, and no delays showing anywhere. Just wondered.

I think (difficult to be totally sure as an Electrostar was passing and in the way) that the test train currently at Reading Triangle is formed at one end of a VTEC red 43 coupled directly onto a blue DRS Mark 2. Looked bizarre both liverywise and generally. Has anyone seen this running around...
