A freight seems to have failed just West of Bedwyn on the up line, (?6A11 Robeston-Theale)with another one behind it. Up fast trains being sent via Swindon. A 1Z99 rescue loco is heading West and is about to cros over at Bedwyn. Didn't see what the 1Z99 was but it's been mobilised quite quickly for this part of the world so any ideas welcome, and pics even more son.

A WoE down has been sent that way so they are expecting to sort the wrong line move quickly presumably.

Bedwyn Newbury shuttles not affected (yet)

There's been issues with the Bedwyn to Newbury stretch recently, causing delays of up to 30mins to passenger services. Last Friday (24th), the up Penzance to Paddington (1A84) was stopping at every signal for clearance to proceed making it nearly 40 late at PAD.

I was on the 6.25am from Newton Abbot and yes, we arrived at Paddington approx. 20 minutes late having missed stops at Bedwyn and Newbury.
So pretty good outcome really and I get to use delay/repay for the first time too.
The train manager came through the train to gauge number who would be alighting at those two stations as split ticketing made calculations tricky. Wether those affected got taxied back I've no idea.
I think the passengers at the affected stations had an approx. 30 minute wait.
