Probably its on its way to Worksop. Wd love to have full list of the 2 car sections stored there. Saw a few there in mid Nov so guess there are more there now.
Thanks for that info re: journey times from Bradford to Hull. Of course if you were tempted to use TPE from Hull to Leeds or return the 14 min cd easily become 60+14 and possibly more!
Interestingly Hull to Bradford and Halifax doesnt get the Northern Connect label. Why ever not? It links two big conurbations in Yorkshire that havent been connected for decades. Uses 170s too-good quality units. The route needs publicising more.
Though 156s were in Hampshire area in late 1980s when many were drafted on to the Cardiff and Bristol to Portsmouth service to temporarily replace 155s that had door problems.
A key point that you make regarding Windows. Pacers give a far better view than not just the 150s but 156s and 158s, especially if you get a seat towards the middle of the train. It depends I guess on what you want if you travel but for me looking out and taking in the scenery, rural or...
The trouble with this Hull to Halifax service is that if it is running late there is a good chance of it being turned around at Bradford instead of Halifax.
Potentially it is very useful service to passengers in East Yorks and Hull who can use it to avoid TPE services. Im told there are some...
IIRC there was a shortlived container service from Warrington Arpley to Immingham in the later 1990s but it didnt last too long. Used to pass through Barnetby early afternoon? It was 56 hauled.
Thankfully contrary to rumours before timetable change 170s are working the Scarboro to Sheffield services. Worry atm is that they have very tight turnaround times at both ends. Far superior to 158s that used to dominate on the route. Some do work to Halifax but dont know diagrams.
By "them" I actually meant the services themselves. I've been affected by cancellations a couple of times myself. But I take your point regarding other interpretation
This is a service that was so successfully built up and has now gone to pot. The Leeds to Lincoln service is the same. Vital services that must run but can anybody trust them??
