You are correct about Bounds Green as maintenance base. Hitachi supposed to be taking it over. Presumably will mean less ecs running from Hull to Doncaster?
Good chance they will end up on Southern Railway. Their dmus seemingly destined for East Midlands. Talk of Southern 377s to be battery fitted to replace these and also replace 313s on Brighton Coastline service. Gap filled by third rail 707s.
Cant see them going north!!
180113 is on 1052 Beverley to KX today.
It has been debranded on one side so presumably going off lease soon. Anyone know any more on this? 802s have been to Bev reportedly but I've not seen one here yet.
Story about overcrowding (and apologies) is on the Hull Live website.
I fear the 802/3s may not be the panacea for all the Hull Trains problems in recent years.
Well put. It all worked then as there always spare resources-stock,locos and staff. Now franchisees to maximise income cut resources to the bone-and we see the consequences of that all too often!
155s currently form most of the York to Bridlington via Hull service. Odd one goes to Scarboro too.
In the last timetable 155s formed the Scarboro to Hull service. The Scarboro to Sheffield via Hull service is now usually 170s with a few 158s.
Hull to Halifax service is mix of 155s,158s and...
What is best in this layout is that you can see out of the windows! Ok less so if packed but even then better than most if not all recent stock. Im just talking about internal layout however!!! Other issues for sure with 142s but.........
I remember well seeing a rake of Skippers heading south through Bridgwater on their way south to Laira. Cd have been at least 5 units. Cant remember the year though. Only stayed down there a while-did they squeak on tight curves!!!
